The suspect, 34 years old Oyemachi Maduabuchi, male, who escaped from the Correctional Centre, was re-arrested by Lagos State Police Command on April 23, 2021.

He was said to have escaped from Owerri after the jailbreak that occurred on April 5, 2021, at 2 am.

Oyemachi Maduabuchi

The suspect, who fled Owerri the same day, was said to have moved to his village, Fegge in Onitsha, Anambra State, to meet his mother who later linked him up with his elder sister, Amarachi Maduabuchi, of Customs Bus Stop Ijegun Lagos who thereafter invited him to Lagos on April 19, 2021.

He was said to have been kept in the sister’s house where she used to lead him to church for special deliverance service.

Read Ahmed Gulak Last Words On The Controversial Imo APC Governorship Election.

“I don’t have any regret over any action I took during the primaries I conducted in Imo State. I don’t expect Okorocha to be happy with me either because I did not go to Imo to make him happy anyway. I went there to do my job and I did it to be best of my knowledge and ability, notwithstanding the tempting offer I got, but refused. I can walk the streets of Imo State, including Owerri with my shoulders high. I may not be perfect as a human being, but I did not go there to make him happy. Somebody who offered me up to $2 million to give certificate of return to his nominee, but I turned it down. How many people can turn such offer down? I would have given him the certificate and pocketed my money because it is money that you don’t go to court to retrieve, but my conscience will not be clear. For now, my conscience is very clear. I can move the streets of Owerri unmolested. Although it is over now, however, I can tell you that APC destroyed itself in Imo State. This is story for another day.”

Sadly, he couldn’t walk the streets of Owerri alive! He shouldn’t have come into Imo at such a time as this.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.

Ahmed Gulak’s Murder: Nnamdi Kanu Reacts.

The attention of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been drawn to the untenable allegation by the security agencies that IPOB was responsible for the assassination of former presidential aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Gulak on his way to Sam Mbakwe Airport Owerri Imo State.

We therefore state without equivocations that IPOB knows nothing about the said assassination. In the first place, what threat did the late Gulak constitute to our cause to warrant his elimination? We had nothing in common with him and could not have in any way killed him.

Had the late Chief of Army Staff Attahiru’s plane crashed in the East, definitely, the so-called Intelligence Agency would say it was IPOB that shot down the plane and everyone in Fulani controlled Sharia core North would believe it.
For us, linking IPOB with the assassination of Gulak is simply to pitch the East against the core Islamic North as a cover and justification for another round of pogrom against Easterns living in the North.

We are only after the restoration of Biafra. Assassination of politicians is not part of our agenda otherwise we would have killed the Efulefu politicians in the Eastern region sabotaging our struggle.

We are in mournful mood ahead of the May 31st Biafra Remembrance Day in honour of our fallen heroes. The terrorists in security uniform looking for any slightest opportunity to blackmail us should not cash in on the sit-at-home order given by our Leader for our fallen heroes. The order is for Monday and not Sunday. People were freely moving about on the streets of Biafra without any molestations by IPOB and there was no way we could have singled out Gulak for attack because we a non-violent movement.

Once again we urge the illiterate and clearly unintelligent agencies masquerades as intelligence agencies we have in Nigeria to please leave IPOB out of their messy incompetence. We challenge Aso Rock to Institute an independent panel of inquiry to investigate the incident and expose those behind this gruesome murder of an innocent man.

Our hearts go out to the family of Gulak. May his soul rest in peace.

Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Is Your Son, Discuss With Him – Ohanaeze Chieftain To Buhari

A chieftain of the Igbo socio-political organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chuks Ibegbu, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to engage Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Islamic Movement in Nigeria, IMN, and other agitators in a roundtable discussion.

Ibegbu said Kanu would put an end to his agitations if Buhari calls him to a father-son discussion.

Speaking exclusively with Daily Post, the former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze said Buhari should extend the same gesture to IMN and other agitators in a bid to stop the push for secession.

According to Ibegbu: “Buhari does not want to sit and talk to agitators. A good leader will call those with grievances for discussion. Instead of using the police and army to fight your home citizens and killing them, call them to a round table discussion.

“Buhari should call Nnamdi Kanu saying look “you are my son what is your problem? Can’t we build a better Nigeria? How do you want Biafra?’ Kanu will say, “father, this is how I want Biafra’ and Buhari will say no, let’s have a round table discussion to solve this problem.’

“Let me tell you, if Buhari does this, Nnamdi Kanu will see him as a father that cares for his son and would stop all these things. Then he will meet with El-Zakzaky’s people, telling them, ‘I know you want an Islamic state but it’s not possible in a nation like Nigeria. However, you can have your religious freedom, and I will release your leader. You will see that El-Zakzaky and his men will calm down.’

“Then Buhari will come to Boko Haram, telling them ‘look, we can’t have an Islamic state in amercenariesic group, I can give you amnesty’.

“If they refuse and opt to continue fighting, then he should invite mercinaries to crush them.”

Addressing Journalists shortly after an emergency Security meeting with Heads of Security Agencies in the State, at his office, Dikko said that any Fulani herdsman that enters Kano State without a clearance, would be turned back immediately.

He maintained that the decision is part of the Security arrangements that have been made by the Command, in a bid to maintain peace and security in the State.

His words: “Today, in the morning, I had a meeting with the Leaders of Fulanis. There are two issues here, Fulanis who are now coming in with their cattle and what have you… So, when we heard about that information, we discussed it with other Security Agencies.

“At the meeting I had in my office this morning with Leaders of Fulanis from Kaduna, Katsina, and Jigawa, I asked them to give us whatever information to block whoever that is coming in without necessary authorisation from the Police of the State they are coming from.

“So, there must be a sort of letter, showing that they are coming to Kano from that State. So, anyone who comes without clearance from our Police formations, from the State they are coming from, will definitely be stopped and turned back to where they came from.

“We will not accept anybody coming here illegally. We may not know the kind persons they are. They may be criminals. They may be bandits or other bad people. So, we will not accept it here in Kano.”

The Commissioner of Police also reaffirmed the commitment of the Command in providing adequate security to all citizens and foreigners residing in the State.

He maintained that the Command is working tirelessly in ensuring synergy with other Security Agencies in Kano, towards ensuring maximum security of lives and property.

The Commissioner noted that they mapped out Security strategies towards ensuring security of Expatriates who are conducting legitimate businesses in the State.

He noted that Kano being the commercial nerve centre of Northern Nigeria, has over 5,000 Expatriates residing in the State, for business and other related matters.

Dikko also said that the Command would soon start arresting Blacksmiths who produce and sell dangerous weapons, such as cutlasses, machetes, swords, and knives, to thugs.

He warned that any Blacksmith found wanting, will be charged with aiding thuggery.

The Police Commissioner added that the Command has concluded arrangements of expanding the anti-Daba Unit, with the sole aim of curtailing thuggery in the State.

Brekete Family, The Human Right Radio Station Sanctions By NBC Over Unprofessional Conduct

NBC Sanctions Brekete Family Radio For Recurring Unprofessional Conduct

The National Broadcasting Commission met with Mr. Ahmed Isah, owner and popular host of Brekete family programmme on the Human Rights Radio on Tuesday 26th of May, 2021.

The meeting afforded Mr. Isah opportunity to explain the circumstances that led to the unfortunate incident at his radio station where rather than promote human rights and human dignity a citizen who was invited to the programmme was physically assaulted by the broadcaster.

The National Broadcasting Commission has reviewed the events and notes the unreserved apologies and regrets expressed by the broadcaster.

The Commission states however that the action of the Broadcaster is in clear violations of the Broadcasting Code and a betrayal of the confidence reposed on him by the people and Government of Nigeria on whose behalf he holds the radio license in trust.

Section 0.1.1.2.1 of the Broadcasting Code provides in the Social Objectives of Broadcasting that Broadcasting shall –

. promote generally accepted social values and norms, especially civic and social responsibilities; and encourage respect for the dignity of man”.

It also provides that Broadcasting organizations shall recognize that they exercise freedom of expression as agents of society, not for any personal or sectional rights, privileges and needs of their own or of their proprietors, relatives, friends or supporters.

It is important to state that the Commission has over the years, advised, cautioned, warned and fined the station over repeated cases of outright abuse, denigrating remarks, intimidation and flagrant abuse of ethics of fairness, balance and fair hearing on the station. It is also on record that the Commission had conducted several training and retraining programmes for the station and the host of the Brekete family programme especially.

The Commission has therefore in line with the sanction provisions in 15.5.2 of the Broadcasting Code, Ordered the Suspension of license of the Broadcaster, until the Broadcaster commits to ethical and professional broadcasting.

The Suspension Order is effective Monday the 31st of May 2021, at 12.00am. The Order shall last 30 days during which it is expected that the broadcaster will put its house in order and attune itself to responsive, professional and responsible broadcasting.

It shall also pay a recommencement fee of as provided for in section 15.5.1 of the Broadcasting Code at the end of the suspension period. The NBC appreciates the popularity of the station and the fact that it has in many cases tuned its programming to the yearnings of the people.

The Commission however has a sacred duty to promote decency, professionalism and respect for dignity of all citizens by all Broadcasters in Nigeria.

Police Wife Introduce Ban On Beer Parlours In Police Barracks

Hajia Hajara Usman Baba, President of the Police Officers Wives Association and wife of the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has decried the proliferation of beer parlours in police barracks, describing it as a bad influence on children and the future of Nigeria.

She stated that she would immediately send a signal to the Force headquarters for the outright relocation of beer parlours from police barracks, threatening that whoever flouted the directive thereafter, would be ejected from the barracks.

The POWA President was on a three-day working visit to familiarise herself with POWA members in the state and also to access the Police children school, to improve the general standards.

She noted that beer parlours should be located at a given distance from the barracks as stipulated by law.

Addressing POWA members at the POWA hall, Ikeja, Hajara said, “During my inspection yesterday (Wednesday) I saw a lot of beer parlours in barracks. I know it is you people that encouraged such. You should try and speak to your husbands to follow the rules and regulations of the barracks.

“I grew up in the barracks because my father was a policeman. Then, there was no beer parlour. And with the future of our children in the barracks, we should be careful because these children are more intelligent than us.

“We are going to send signals immediately, for the relocation of the beer parlours. If you don’t keep to it, you will be ejected out of the Barracks.”

She also lamented the dirty state of barracks in Lagos and announced the commencement of environmental sanitation, every Saturday. She informed that she would personally take part in the next one, after taking a 30-minute walk with POWA members, as part of activities to mark her visit.

She said, “What I saw at the barracks was devastating. The barracks were unkempt. It was very dirty. If there is no sanitation nationwide, can’t you sanitise yourself, or don’t we have barracks leaders? There is going to be sanitation henceforth. It is going to be a continuous exercise until we are retired.”

Noting that policemen had been demoralised due to happenings in the country, she admonished POWA members and other wives of policemen to be supportive at this moment, by being submissive to their spouses, adding that this was not the time to nag at home, as such would go a long way to affect their husbands’ efficiency at work.

Finally , Whoever flouted the directive thereafter, would be ejected from the barracks.

Biafra: Ignore Nnamdi Kanu’s Sit -at-home Order – Gov. Uzodinma Tells Residents

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has urged residents of the state to ignore a sit-at-home order by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on May 29 and May 30.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy of the state, Mr Declan Emelumba, said this while briefing newsmen in Owerri on Thursday.

Emelumba urged residents of the state to go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestation, adding that adequate security arrangements had been put in place to ensure safety and freedom of movement.

“Imo residents should disregard these messages as they have no consequence whatsoever. They should go about their normal businesses without any fear of molestation.

“Let our people be rest assured that the government has put all necessary security measures in place to ensure the safety and freedom of movement of all Imo people on these dates and after,” he said.

Speaking on the alleged shoot-at-sight order given by the government to security operatives, the commissioner said it was the handiwork of rumour mongers and enemies of the state.

According to him, only criminals have something to worry about the security measures put in place in the state and innocent residents have nothing to fear.

“Just when the government has successfully brought the state back to normalcy, these vicious enemies have contrived another rumour to the effect that security agents have been instructed to shoot and kill Imo youths extra judicially.

“I am here to urge my dear Imo youths to ignore this baseless rumour of them being targets of intimidation or assault by security agents, as the originators of this rumour are those who have vowed to make Imo ungovernable.

“I am, therefore, using this medium to appeal to our parents and guardians to rein in their children and wards against any form of demonstration in this volatile time.

“Those who are stoking the embers of this crisis will not put forward their children to be part of the battle. That is why my fellow parents should not allow their children to be Cannon fodder in a purely mindless matter.

“Once again, the government has not given any order for either the arrest or killing of innocent Imo youths. So, law-abiding citizens should go about their legitimate businesses without any fear or panic,” he said.
