Some Yoruba Politicians Are Pressuring Me To Beg The Presidency – Sunday Igboho

Igboho said some politicians have been “pressurising” him and his wife to sign documents they could use to beg President Muhammadu Buhari and his political circle on his (Igboho’s) behalf.

Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has revealed that some yoruba political leaders are asking him to beg the Presidency.

Speaking through his lawyer, Yomi Alliyu, the separatist agitator said any document claiming he authorised any politician was fake.

In a statement signed by Alliyu, Igboho said he was being pressured by politicians who were unconcerned about his incarceration in Benin Republic.

Buhari Has Defeated Boko Haram During My Regime – Buratai

The Nigerian Ambassador to Benin Republic, His Excellency, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his support to the military that led to the defeat of the Boko Haram terrorists. General Buratai, made the commendation on Friday in Yola, Adamawa State, at the 24th, 25th and 26th combined convocation lecture of Modibbo Adama University, Yola.

According to Buratai, who was the Guest Lecturer, at the occasion, the current Service Chiefs are doing tremendously well because of the immense support and strategic direction of President Muhammadu Buhari. This he added, led to the defeat of the Boko Haram terrorists and other successes being recorded. He went further to state that however, the underdevelopment of the North-East was the major factor fuelling insurgency and insecurity in the geopolitical zone.

“Any country that does not ensure the development of its people would have security challenges.

“We should not rely on the military option as the only way to resolve our security challenges.

“We must address the ideological, economic, social, and political factors.

“My recent diplomatic foray has further sharpened my views on the urgent need for military, as well as non-military solution to the lingering and needless conflict”, he said.

#ENDSARS: DJ Switch Is A Liar, ‘A Runnaway DJ’ – Lai Muhammad

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, alluded to Disc Jockey Obianuju Catherine Udeh, better known as DJ Switch, at a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.

The minister had addressed the media on the occasion of the first anniversary of the EndSARS protest.

At his press briefing, the minister accused DJ Switch of joining those who lied against security operatives.

Although he did not mention her name specifically, it was clear that he was referring to her.

The minister insisted that no one was killed by security operatives, accusing Amnesty International, CNN, and “a runaway DJ” of spreading falsehood.

“The testimony of ballistic experts before the Judicial Panel of Inquiry in Lagos contradicts the tales by the moonlight by Amnesty International, CNN, a runaway DJ and their ilk.”

DSS Rleases two Igboho aides after 114 days in custody

DSS releases two

The Department of State Services (DSS) has released the remaining two aides of embattled Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, alias Sunday Igboho, who have been in custody since July 1.

The detainees’ lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, confirmed their release.

The DSS had during a midnight raid of Igboho’s Soka house in Ibadan, Oyo State, arrested 12 of the activist’s allies and whisked them away to Abuja, where they were kept in detention, but 10 were released.

Those earlier released were Abideen Shittu, Abdullateef Onaolapo, Ayobami Donald, Olakunle Oluwapelumi, Dikeola Ademola, Bamidele Sunday, Raji Kazeem, Taiwo Tajudeen, Tajudeen rinloye and Uthman Adelabu.

The secret police had held on to the remaining two aides despite an order by Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court, Abuja on August 4, for the release of all the 12 detained associates.

Dissatisfied with the ruling, the DSS went ahead to slam five-count terrorism charges against the two aides.

Olajengbesi, in a terse statement on Friday said: “This is to officially announce the release of Amudat Babatunde Abibat AKA Lady-K and Jamiu Noah Oyetunji, the remaining two Sunday Igboho’s aides, from the State Security Service Custody today – 22nd October, 2021.

“While the matter is still a subject of litigation, we shall have no comment further on this for now.”

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has described some comments made by Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara as false allegations.

Governor AbdulRazaq, in an exclusive interview with a national newspaper, published on Monday, alleged that the minister dehumanised him, stole N100m during the campaign and other preparations towards the 2019 Governorship and other elections in the state.

Lai Mohammed said: “I read the article and I also read the response of some people.

“I believe that issues of national importance I have come here to discuss are more important than the personal disagreement between me and the governor.

“At the appropriate time and forum, I will respond to the false allegations.

The minister also declined response to questions on the parallel congresses held by the APC in some states.

2023: APC To Pick Either Tinubu Or Osinbajo As Consensus Presidential Candidate.

There are strong indications that the All Progressives Congress may adopt consensus arrangement to pick its presidential candidate in 2023.

Top chieftains of the APC, who confided in The PUNCH on Tuesday, said stalwarts of the party had started reaching out to members nursing presidential ambition on the need to close ranks.

According to them, the party fears that “a crowded presidential primary may breed bad blood and threaten the chances of the party in 2023.”

It was gathered that the APC National leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, would soon meet as part of the arrangement.

Following the arrest of Tonto Dikeh’s ex, Prince Kpokpogri, the actress said that if she had her way, he would rot in jail but she didn’t have that kind of power hence the law should prevail.

Dikeh said this while responding to a comment urging her to return Kpokpogri’s car on Stella Dimoko Korkus Instagram page. She asked, “Has he returned my brand new Hilux I bought for him? Shouldn’t he answer to blackmailing me with my sex tape illegally recorded or the release of a vulnerable moment illegally recorded and released?” Answering her own questions, Dikeh said, “In my own opinion, he deserves no mercy, let the law prevail.”
