Daily Devotional 27th of January 2021: The principles of success

“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” Genesis 1:3 KJV
Today, it is no longer a secret that opportunities abound in the different sectors of our economy as a nation. However, the irony is that many believers are barely scratching the surface. Rather than harness our God-given potentials and proffer solutions to our world, we would rather sit back and complain, saying that it is not working. For everything you say is not working, just turn around and you will see someone else doing it.
Success does not come by mistake. In Genesis chapter 1, the earth was void and without form but it did not remain like that. God saw the darkness and did not like it; hence, He proffered a solution. He commanded the light to appear and there was light. In like manner, believers are also called to proffer solutions in their world. The Word of God is plastered with templates and principles for us to follow. If we diligently harness these divine principles, we will ultimately succeed.

One of the principles of success is to know that you are unique. So, don’t try to be someone else. You cannot afford to be a copy when you are the original. By virtue of the New Birth, you have been designed to be ahead of others. Being a child of God confers an advantage on you because you now have the mind of Christ. That means you can have insight into what God is doing. You can download divine concepts that the world is still looking for. When you have the mind of Christ, you can proffer a solution that will leave the world wondering.

Take a look at the streets and you will see needs in people’s lives. When you dare to satisfy those needs, people will naturally gravitate towards you. You may be selling roasted plantain and fish, let people see a touch of creativity in what you are doing and pretty soon, you will become the sought after. Remember that the enemy wants you down and out. But I declare that you will win in the competitions of life.

He thanked Buhari for appointing an illustrious son of Delta into the exalted position of Chief of Defence Staff, and said that it was an elevated responsibility given to a deserving officer.

According to him, Irabor, who hails from Agbor in Delta, has the requisite experience for his new job having served as Theatre Commander “Operation Lafiya Doyle”, Force Commander of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), combating Boko Haram; Chief of Training and Operations, Defence Headquarters and Commander, Training and Doctrine Command of the Nigerian Army, TRADOC.

“With his core competences in strong leadership and professional skills, Gen. Irabor had brought his wealth of experience to bear on all his assignments in the Army, especially in the war against terrorism and insurgency.

Daily Devotional 26 January: How to enjoy the Blessings.

“The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.” Proverbs 10:22 KJV

According to the scriptures, you’ve already been blessed with all spiritual blessings. However, the responsibility is now on you to bring the blessings, which are in the heavenly realm, into the physical where you can enjoy them. You can do this first by finding out what the Word of God has to say about your situation. Then go to war with it by personalizing it, meditating and speaking it over your situation

Another way to enjoy the blessings released to you by God is to take the Word of God back to Him in prayers. You need to use the Word of God to nullify the lies of the devil in your life. Pray in the Holy Ghost and pray it without ceasing. Let the devil know that you know your rights. Don’t just pray and declare without acting on the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Remember that as many as are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.

Learn to lay hold on the Word of God and declare it into your situation. If you are having any health challenge, understand that you may still be seeing symptoms and the devil will attempt to lie to you that you are not healed. Rise up in the place of prayer and speak healing to your body. Speak prosperity to your business. As you learn to speak into your situation, you will ultimately effect a change in that area. Do you trust God for the fruit of the womb? Declare to yourself that you are a joyful mother of children. Go ahead and begin to call the children by name and you will see God come through for you. Whatever your situation is, learn to speak to it and it will surely bow before you.

Finally, you need to remain steadfast on the promises of God. Always give Him thanks knowing that He would do what He has promised. Learn to wait for the manifestation of all that the Lord has promised you.

Delta Presents Position On PIB, Wants Role of Host Communities Prioritised.

The Delta State Government has presented its position on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) before the National Assembly where it sorts for legislations that will give more participation to host communities in the nation’s oil and gas industry.

State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Prince Emman Amgbaduba made the presentation at the ongoing public hearing on PIB before the Senate Joint Committee on Petroleum Upstream and Downstream on Monday in Abuja.

The government position was contained in a 30-page document which the commissioner presented on behalf of the government.

Amgbaduba told the committee to ensure there are legislations that encourage host communities’ participation in the industry in the interest of peace and justice.

He said the current smooth and peaceful operations by oil multinationals in the state is due to the peaceful disposition of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who constantly engage host communities in meaningful dialogue.

According to him, Delta State Government supports the position of placing oil host communities in charge of protection of pipelines and other facilities domiciled in their communities and be allowed the privilege of having such contracts.

He remarked that it was unreasonable to bring in outsiders as contractors to protect pipelines that are in the host communities when the people have capacity to provide such protection.

He averred in a 30-page document emphasised on the need for host communities to be carried along in the PIB for a peaceful oil production process.

Amgbaduba said the state recognises the need for a conducive atmosphere for both host communities and International Oil Companies operating in the state to get along and open opportunities for employment, increase in production of oil and implementation of corporate social responsibilities to host communities.

“As a major oil and gas stakeholder in the Niger Delta, we have firsthand experience as to what is required to ensure a smooth co-existence between the host communities and oil companies.

“We also emphasized that the host communities should be allowed to provide the executive of the various boards

“We also frown at the practice where pipeline security and protection were given to outsiders whereas the various host communities have capacity to secure the pipelines. It is therefore unreasonable to bring in outsiders to secure pipelines and other facilities when the host communities have the capacity to provide such services locally.

“We also asked for the issues of tenants, percentage and dispute resolutions as it concerns the oil and gas sector.

“We have asked the National Assembly to incorporate these suggestions and many more into the PIB Bill and we believe that presentation made by the Delta State Government in the 30-page document if implemented carefully will create the needed conducive atmosphere for free and fair operations of the oil and gas sector,” he stated.

Responding, Chairman Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream and Downstream) Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu, commended Delta for its presentation and recommendations.

He assured that the Committee will take into consideration the recommendations made by Delta State in the final passage of the bill.

Open grazing ban in all parts of the south west- Seyi Makinde

Today, the south west governors held a security stakeholders’ meeting in Akure, Ondo State. The meeting was attended by our brother governors from Kebbi and Jigawa States, security chiefs in the SW zone led by the AIG Zone 11 and leaders from the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).

Collectively, we resolved to ban open grazing in all parts of the south west. In Oyo State, we already have a law against open grazing which will continue to be implemented by our security agencies.

I restated that we will not permit criminality as a response to criminal actions. Instead we will continue to support our security agencies to do their duties. Also, we will work with our people to face our common enemies – the criminals; kidnappers, armed robbers and bandits.

Aare Ona Kakanfo Gani Adams: “The apex organisation in the North and the herders association should watch their statements or face the wrath of the Yoruba nation.

“By their inciting statements, the North is beating war drums. But we will resist any attempt by the North to turn our region into war zones and no amount of threat will stop us from securing our region from killer herdsmen.

“From my findings, what is playing out in the last three days (especially on the social media), it is evident that there are some enemies and political elements both within and outside our region who are now using the bravery of Sunday Igboho as a coordinated attempt to soil my name, and also put my efforts in the past 28 years in the struggle to test.”
“My silence in the last three days doesn’t portray me as a coward, but by virtue of my position as the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, I am bound by my conscience and conviction to act accordingly when the time is right. And I must also consult widely before taking any action.
“What Igboho said was not even as damaging to the sanctity of the nation than ( sic ) the call for civil war by the ACF and the Miyetti Allah put together.

“The killer herdsmen are the major problem but sadly the Federal Government remains silent.
“There are reports that the Fulani herdsmen have, in the past five years, killed over 300 Yoruba people from different communities while several other people have been kidnapped with victims paying several billion as ransom.
“The Fulani, in their conqueror agenda since1818 had caused a lot of damage to the South West.
And it is clear that the south is their target, that is why anybody going against the Fulani herdsmen automatically becomes their enemy.”

Yoruba Obas Reject Akeredolu’s Quit Notice To Herders

Association of traditional leaders/Obas of the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has rejected the quit order given to Fulani herders by the Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, to vacate forest reserves in the state.

Rather, the association has advised the governor to fish out the criminals involved in kidnapping and allied crimes in the state and treat them squarely, based on their criminal activities, instead of criminalising the whole Fulani herders, many of who, the group stated, have been living peacefully for decades all over the state and Nigeria generally.

In a statement signed by the secretary-general of the association, His Highness Oba (Dr) Alani Kolawole Adeyemi, which was made available to newsmen in Abuja, the monarchs said the menace of kidnapping and allied crimes, which have become a nightmare to Nigerians, require a broad based approach.

Oba Adeyemi, who is also the Sarkin Yoruba of Guyaku district in Adamawa State, stated that the Ondo State governor, who is a seasoned administrator, a nationalist and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), needs not to be tutored on the security implications of the quit orders, adding that the Fulani herders are also an integral part of his subjects, whose welfare and well-being are part of his responsibilities.

The statement advised that concerted efforts should be made so that both the security apparatus of the state, the leader of Fulani herders in the state and national level, as well as all well-meaning Nigerians work towards bringing amicable resolution to the crisis.

While stating that the Fulani herders have the inalienable constitutional rights to live and work peacefully in any part of the country, the association also appealed to revered paramount traditional rulers across the country to immediately wade into the matter.
