What I told Sunday Igboho. –Pastor Tunde Bakare.

“Immediately Sunday Igboho gave that ultimatum, I knew there was trouble if nothing was done immediately. And he carried out what he said he would carry out.

“What did I do? As an individual, I found a way of reaching out to him (Igboho). I have never met him before, never spoken to him before but I reached out to him and after a while, he called me and I said, I appeal to you by the mercies of God, two wrongs cannot make a right, you have proved your point, let us find alternative solution so that there would be no bloodbath.

“He promised to come and see me in Lagos and I had made preparations for him to come but unfortunately, his father took ill and he had to take him to the hospital.

“I followed also to ensure I prayed for the father. I told him, I am not saying you are right or you are wrong, that is not the issue but please, if you carry out this threat, it would lead to something bigger than you and you do not want to go down in history as someone who had good intention of defending the rights of his people but ended up bringing them a bloodbath.

“He thanked me and then he said he would find time to come to Lagos.”

“if care was not taken, there could be 10,000 Sunday Igbohos in the country, tasked security agencies to bring all perpetrators of killing, kidnapping and rape cases in Ibarapaland to book.

“Let us not throw legal semantics with this issue. When people are being slaughtered and being killed and this man is reeling out the names of those who are killed and nobody has disproved that they were truly killed, whoever killed those people if they are not brought to book, then, you cannot be asking a man who is saying I want justice to say he is wrong.

“Two wrongs don’t make a right, I am not asking him to go kill anybody, I’m not asking him to take laws into his hands but I am saying would you say that those who are killed should just die for nothing?

Where were the police and security agencies when those people were being killed? If their killers were not brought to book, we could have more than 10,000 Sunday Igbohos in one day if care is not taken.”

Daily Devotional 3rd of February 2021: Stay in Fellowship

“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Acts 2:42 KJV
Beloved, don’t form the habit of staying away from fellowship. Don’t be a fair weather Christian who goes to church anytime he wants or selects the services to attend. You should be a part of all church programs, join different groups and be actively involved in ministry arms. The world out there is a hustle, infested with destructive demons assigned to destroy your life. But when you are in fellowship, you are not alone. Your weakness is strengthened by your brother while his own weakness is strengthened by your own strength. That’s the way it is: “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend” (Proverbs 27:17 KJV).

There is no single individual that has it all together. That is why Paul requested for the prayers of the church in Ephesians 6:19: “Pray for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel” (KJV). Every one of us needs prayer. I need prayers every day. If there is one person the devil will like to kill, it is me. But because there are prayer coverings all over, he is not able to come near me. So, I don’t go to bed with my eyes opened. Rather, I sleep because I know the angels of the Lord are encamping round about me. God has given His angels charge concerning you to bear you up in their hands and you will not dash your feet against stones. Evil will never come near you.

One of the greatest strategies of the devil in these last days is to separate you from the bunch and kill you. The devil tries to keep you away and makes you think that you are sufficient in yourself. Before you realize what is happening, you will suddenly find out that you are drowning in the sea of wickedness and no one is there while you are crying for help. That will not be your portion in Jesus name.

Daily Devotional February 2nd 2021: Stay connected to the Lord (Part 2).

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:”
1 Peter 2:2 (KJV)

One of the foremost things man was instructed to do after he was created by God was to grow. Hence, as we give our lives to Christ as newborn babes, God desires that we start growing by drinking the milk of His word. You are supposed to have a hunger for progress because as you are growing, changes are taking place. Unfortunately, there are some believers who have been in church for a long time but there are no visible changes in their lives. When you take notes in the church do you go back home to read and apply them to your life?

Can you imagine a man of 70 years waking up in the morning and asking for breast milk? You will certainly say something is wrong with him. The scripture says when you should be fathers and teachers when you should have taken the responsibility to develop others as you have been developed, there seems to be a need to still teach you the elementary things of God. Then something is wrong. The strategy of God’s plans and purpose is that those who have been taught should teach those who are coming up. Thus, the pastor will now have time to receive fresh revelations that will develop the people.

Stay connected to the Lord always

You cannot be in the church over the years and you are still being begged to stop complaining and to forgive. If you are like that, you are a baby; “But strong meat belongs to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil” (Hebrews 5:14 KJV). Strong meat talks about deeper spiritual truth and those who use it are the mature ones. Make up your mind today to discard babyish things and watch God commit more serious issues into your hand. Now, I commend you to God, and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them, which are sanctified.

Killer headsmen: I will ensure there is peace in all Yoruba Nation- Sunday Igboho

The Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho on Monday declared war on killer herdsmen during a visit to some parts of Ogun

Igboho had a brief stopover in Abeokuta around 4pm where he interacted with supporters.

He proceeded to Ketuland where some soldiers allegedly connived with herdsmen to flog farmers for not permitting them to graze their cattle in Yewa-North Local Government Area.

In Abeokuta, the activist said: “I observe there is an injustice from the herdsmen because they know the power that they have in the Federal Government.

“So, they behave as if Yoruba people are nobody. They kill our people, they kidnap our people, and they rape our women.”

“Any herdsman who engages in kidnapping would be flushed out.”

He declared he would not limit his activism to Igangan, saying “Not only Igangan, we are going to visit all Yorubaland and ensure there is peace everywhere.”

Kwara Gov mourns Sardauna Ilorin Umaru Saro.

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has described the death of Alhaji Umaru Saro, the Sardauna Ilorin, as a big loss to the nation and the state, especially the Ilorin Emirate where he impacted the lives of many with his industry, philanthropy, and positive influence.

“This passage represents a monumental loss to not just the Ilorin Emirate but to the entire state and the nation. Alhaji Umaru Saro was a phenomenon of his time, a business mogul, known nationally and internationally for his entrepreneurship, industry, generosity and commitment to communal growth, peace and harmony. His love for the Islamic scholarship and propagation is widely acknowledged as he invested so much resources therein. Alhaji Umaru Saro was a leading light of the nation’s business community in which he is held in high esteem. Most significantly, he was an inspiration and pillar of support for our Administration from inception. His death is indeed the end of an era,” the Governor said in a statement on Sunday night.

“On behalf of my family, the people and government of Kwara State, I commiserate with the Emir of Ilorin Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), his immediate and extended family, and of course the entire Muslim community on the passing of the Sardauna of Ilorin. He served God and humanity, and was always proud to identify with the people, poor or rich. We are consoled by his many virtues, particularly his philanthropy and immense love for our people and the community. We pray Allah (Exalted is He) to grant Alhaji Umaru Saro forgiveness and reward him with al-jannnah Firdaus. May Allah, exalted is He, comfort the family that the Sardauna has left behind.”

Glorious exit: Mike Adenuga‘s Sister, Afolasade Akande, Dies on 80th Birthday

Sometimes, the best way to measure the value of human life is at the moment of death, at that brief interval between awareness and sleep, where it suddenly dawns upon the mind that those left behind will remember one for good. Chief Mrs. Afolasade Akande passed on to glory on her 80th birthday, fully aware that she will be remembered for good.

The life of Madam (for she never quite became an old and wrinkled ‘Mama’) Folasade Akande (formerly Folasade Adenuga) was one of grace and beauty, and the continuation of a prestigious lineage.

Born to Pa Michael Agbolade Adenuga Sr. and Mama Juliana Oyindamola as number two among their five children, Madam Folasade inherited philanthropic — and disciplined — aspects of her father and the business genius of her mother.

These traits were somewhat unevenly distributed among the Adenuga children (the late Mrs. E. O. Osunsade, Otunba Demola Adenuga, Otunba Yetunde Adegbola, and Dr. Michael Adenuga), and each got something to be forever remembered for.

It is notable that Madam Folasade passed away on a day of joy, a day many people started with gratitude in their hearts for the happy woman. Her younger brother, the renowned businessman, Michael Adenuga, would likely have coloured the town in celebratory pink, in honour of a woman that greatly influenced him.

Unaware that she was about to breathe her last, Mike Adenuga had written a long note to celebrate her. He recalled tales of their distant past, a time when their mother still shouldered the burdens of their lives and happiness even though she didn’t need to; a time when his sister, Madam Folasade, imitated that same gentle grace, never hard to please, and yet a no-nonsense person.

There is no doubt that Madam Afolasade Akande was loved, or that she will be greatly missed, or that her memory will still bring smiles on the face of her beloveds five or ten years from now.

This is the result of a life well-lived.

Biafra: It Is Clear Now, Nnamdi Kanu Is The True Leader Of Ndi-Igbo, Not Ohaneze Organisation – Prof. Usman Yusuf

Nigerian Professor Usman Yusuf has revealed that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is indeed the true leader of the Igbo Nation and not the Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo organisation.

The professor described Kanu as the true leader who is the Commander in Chief in southeastern Nigeria. “I have seen several Igbo men claiming leadership, but Nnamdi Kanu is different from most of them”. “He is focused, strategic in planning and has commanded a humongous number of followers across Nigeria and the globe whose loyalty is unquestionable,” he revealed.

“Nnamdi Kanu from the United Kingdom, gives an order to the youths and they are all obeying him, that is leadership, he said.

He further stated that “ it’s a shame that Nnamdi Kanu is the one calling the shot in the Southeast.” He blamed the other Igbo leaders for the squalor in the region and asked, “Where are the leaders, where are the Ohanaeze leaders?

Where are the elders who should call the youths to order when they misbehave? ” Nnamdi Kanu is the only leader the youths can trust.

The government should listen to him when he talks, It is clear now, Nnamdi Kanu is a true leader of Ndi-Igbo, Not Ohaneze Organisation he said.

Open Grazing should stop in all the Eastern Region, IPOB Leader Kanu gave Governors 14 days ultimatum.

We wish to humbly and most submissively call upon all the governors of the East, to as a matter of urgency, ban all manner of open grazing in the region in compliance with the 1969 statutory law of #Nigeria that banned such provocative and primitive practice by Fulani herdsmen.

The bold step taken by Yoruba governors in banning open grazing in their region is commendable and as such MUST be reciprocated and consolidated by a similar pronouncement in the East.

If after 14 days there is no firm and decisive action by Eastern governors to ban open grazing in our land, #ESN will step into the breach to commence the enforcement of this 1969 Anti-Grazing Law across the entire region. Don’t say you were not informed or given prior warning.

Daily Devotional 1st of February 2021: Stay Connected to the Lord

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalms 91:1 KJV

God expects you to grow. To grow means to be balanced, matured and increase by natural development. There is no doubt that we are living in very tough times. Only mature Christians can be tough enough to face the challenges of our days. As a child of God, therefore, it is time for you to brace up and get serious with your Christian experience. Understand that the answer lies with God and every other thing is sinking sand; you can’t depend on them.

If you take a look at the state of the world today, you will see the degradation and evil in the land. What God is saying is that the church should take her place as the light of the world and the salt of the earth- that is who you are. You don’t have to be begged to live for God. You shouldn’t be coaxed or forced to be a Christian or to represent the kingdom. It is getting clearer and clearer by the day that there is no hiding place except in the Cross. No wonder, a songwriter wrote: “On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. Our hope is built on nothing else than Jesus blood and righteousness”.

I feel sorry for those who don’t have a relationship with the Father because I don’t know how they are going to survive without a solid relationship with Jesus Christ. How will you make it through life in these times of uncertainties? The roads are not safe. The shopping malls are not safe. Every time we hear news of disaster in various nations of the world. But if you are well connected to Him, you are safe, secure and you will find rest in the shadow of His wings. You will find peace and satisfaction in Him. I challenge you to push back all forms of distractions today and take your safe place under the shadow of His wings. Surely, it is well with you.
