He Is An Ordinary Citizen , Not Above The Law ’, Imo Govt Defends Police Arrest Of Okorocha’s Son-in-law , Uche Nwosu

The Imo State government has reacted to the arrest of Mr Uche Nwosu, saying the police have the right to arrest him if suspected of any crime.

Addressing reporters on Sunday in Owerri hours after the incident, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Imo, Declan Emelumba, stated that it was not in anybody’s place to tell the police how to arrest a suspect.

He also faulted the reaction of the immediate past governor of Imo, Rochas Okorocha, to the arrest of Nwosu, the latter’s son-in-law.

What is the haste in this press conference trying to politicise an ordinary thing,” the commissioner said of the briefing convened earlier by the former governor.

Uche Nwosu is just an indigene of Imo State and a citizen of Nigeria, and if he has run afoul of the law, the police have every right to arrest him, and nobody should dictate to them how they do it.

“It depends on the gravity of the offence, and it depends on the information at their (police) disposal.”

Earlier, there was panic at Eziama-Obaire in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo as security operatives stormed St. Peter’s Anglican Church and left with Nwosu.

The heavily armed operatives stormed the church with high-powered security vehicles, shooting sporadically into the air before arresting Okorocha’s son-in-law.

Emelumba described the claim by Okorocha, in which he accused the state government of instigating Nwosu’s arrest, as untrue and disgusting.

According to him, the former governor is just trying to whip up sentiments and speaking from a state of panic and guilt.

The commissioner asked the former governor to desist from such an act and allow the security operatives who already confirmed the arrest of Nwosu to do their duty.

He stressed that the state government has no hands in the arrest of Okorocha’s son-in-law.

What is painful is that a former governor of this state, Rochas Okorocha, is busy raining abuses on His Excellency, Governor of Imo State [Hope Uzodinma], and saying all manner of things about him.

“I don’t want to join issues with him,” said Emelumba.

As of the time of filling this report, Uche Nwosu has been released from detention.

Read Buhari’s Christmas 2021 Message

I rejoice with Christians in Nigeria as they join fellow believers all over the world to celebrate this season.

It is a special period that brings peoples of the world together with one purpose; to celebrate togetherness, joy, peace, and above all, to share love with one another through exchange of goodwill and gifts.

For the second Christmas running, the world will not be able to celebrate as we used to in years past.

The COVID-19 pandemic, with its attendant debilitating impact, has remained with mankind, mutating and leaving in its wake devastating consequences on the economy, social interaction, and curtailing certain freedoms.

The silver lining, however, is that humanity has been able to rise up with one voice and purpose, to confront the foisted conditions.

I want to use this opportunity to appeal to our dear citizens to embrace vaccination, which is the best scientifically known bulwark against the pandemic.

Recent events have shown that vaccination greatly reduces the effects of the virus on the human body.

I will also urge those that have taken the two doses to go ahead and take the booster as advised by the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC).

I commend the efforts of members of the PSC under the headship of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation as they continue to chart a roadmap out of the pandemic and associated issues.

On security, despite the remarkable successes generally recorded, we still have some challenges.

Our courageous security forces, bolstered by the necessary support from this administration, daily confront the wicked ones amongst us, who continue to threaten the peace of the land.

Recently, during the meeting with fellow Heads of State of the ECOWAS, I discussed the need to intensify efforts to jointly confront this menace causing instability in our sub-region.

I am confident that with the renewed commitment and empowerment of our committed security personnel, all these issues which inflict pain and trauma on us will soon be history.

Let us utilize the opportunity that this festive period brings to encourage ourselves so that the machinations of the wicked ones in our midst will find no place to thrive.

Christmas is a season when hope is rekindled. Hope, Peace, Joy, Love are the recurring themes of this time.

It is in the midst of hardship that the true test of a nation emerges.

I urge Nigerians to invoke the indomitable spirit in us and see the present order of things as a phase that will also pass, just like other unsavory situations in the nation’s history.

This government will not abandon the promises made to Nigerians for a better lease of life.

The diversification of the economy embarked upon is yielding fruits.

We shall continue to create opportunities for our teeming youths to ventilate their tremendous energy.

As we felicitate with family, friends, colleagues, associates, let us spare moments to reach out to the less privileged.

Let us also pray and give words of encouragement to our gallant security personnel fulfilling their oaths to keep us safe.

I assure my compatriots that this administration remains resolute at ensuring that the standard of living of the average Nigerian is elevated.

On this note, I wish Nigerians Merry Christmas!

Yoruba Elders Move To Reconcile First-Class Monarch, Ooni, Estranged Wife Amid Divorce Scare.

Ile Oodua elders are making a last-minute move to reconcile the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his estranged wife, Prophetess Naomi Silekunola.

Sources in the palace says that some of the elders had contacted Prophetess Naomi in a bid to reconcile their differences.

It was learnt that the elders’ team comprised of traditional rulers and members of Ife community.

“The babas (elders) are meeting on it. We pray that they can reconcile them,” one of the tour guides in the palace confided in our correspondent.

“Everybody is in a sobber mood. The issues we heard could cause the divorce are reconcilable. We learnt Ooni is not aware of the divorce too.”

When asked about some of the elders making the reconciliation move, he said, “No, they asked us not to talk,” and cut the phone. See Also Breaking News BREAKING: Ooni Of Ife’s Wife Announces Divorce From Monarch In Instagram Post

As of the time of filing this report, it could not be ascertained if the reconciliation was successful.

But a close monarch to Ooni, who confirmed that “elders are making moves”, said, “a statement from the palace will confirm the outcome”.

If the reconciliation fails, it means Adeyeye has been married twice as a king and the marriages failed.

In 2016, the Ooni married Olori Wuraola from Benin, who is now known as Queen Zaynab-Otiti Obanor. The marriage ended in 2017.

In 2018, the Ooni married Evangelist Naomi, who announced her divorce from the Ooni on Thursday.

I’m Ready To Reconcile With My Friend, Kwankwaso – Ganduje

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State says he is ready to reconcile with his predecessor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

In an interview with Radio France, the governor described the feud between him and Kwankwaso as the handiwork of political miscreants who do not want a cordial relationship between them.

“You know there are people who are used to fuelling issues. So, we are working on them towards seeing that we beat their actions and reconcile.”

“This kind of issues are normal in politics and God willing it will come to pass. Everyone knows that reconciliation is always the best. We hope God will help those who pledge to reconcile us to succeed.

“From our part, we are ever ready to come forward and reconcile. It’s not like we are refusing. There are people from both parties who are driving this issue but like I said, everything that sense is applied into, I think we will get over it.

I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but as the Queen of the people and mother of my adorable Prince – Naomi Shilekunola.

I bless the Lord almighty for His faithfulness in the last 3years of my marriage. In life’s journey, it isn’t how far. Still, how well, indeed though satan should buffet if trials should come, I have this blessed assurance controlling all situations and saying to me it is well with my soul. Certainly, it is well. I made my journey into the ancient throne of Ife with faith in my heart and love for the keeper of it.

Few impressions I would love to correct. If anyone knows otherwise, they are free to come up with facts. Let it be known that this decision to move on did not come because his majesty is married to another queen. As many would love to assume, throughout our life as a couple, I was the only married wife to him. There were side attractions, but it was never an issue. I never approached him with any revelation of any sort, as many believed he contacted me first and made his proposal known several months later.

The marriage was not an arranged one, as many have misconstrued. I never knew the prophetess said to have introduced me to him. Instead, he introduced her to me after I agreed to marry him. I was only being polite out of respect for him.
I have never been pregnant all my life before Tadenikawo; my son is my first ever pregnancy with medical reports to back it up
The girl who is said to be my daughter is my niece
I did my best to endure and make it work; many times, I smiled through the struggle, but I have finally realised I had just one assignment, my son, and when God is done, He is done. He chose Saul to be king, and when He was done, He told the prophet Samuel I have moved on. Religion was never an issue between us; please refer to my interview on News Central TV. Instead, His Majesty has a picture he would love the world to see and perceive him as and another one which is his true self.

Today I announce the beginning of a new dawn and the close of a chapter. Today, I am a mother to God’s unique gift. I am no longer a slave to my thoughts of perfection. I, at this moment, announce that I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but as the Queen of the people and mother of my adorable Prince. He is God’s way of saying I know about it all.In situations like this, there will be aggrieved persons. I, at this moment, appeal to all parties involved to allow the peace of God with the consciousness that there is a lovely little boy between us. I thank all of my prayer partners and loved ones.
I remain committed to all of my projects, charity work and ministry.
In this new season, I shall be focusing on God only.

Naomi Shilekunola.

I am A Married Woman, But My Boyfriend is A Bandit in the Forest -Suspect Narrates

The Nigerian Police Force has paraded some women who specialize in running errands for bandits and supplying them with other women. The spokesperson of the NPF, Frank Mba, revealed more details regarding the activities of the suspects, while one of the arrested suspects got interviewed during the parade. The event got covered by Matters-Arising.

The Nigerian Police Force is not relenting its efforts to combat terrorists and their collaborators. Some women recently got arrested in Kaduna State for collaborating with bandits and aiding their criminal activities.

Narrating the details, Frank Mba said, “These suspects are from Zaria, Kaduna state. They work with a notorious bandit in a forest in Kaduna state. The suspects assist bandits by providing surveillance on potential targets and informing the bandits in the bush. They visit the bandits and aid them in purchasing food and medical supplies. The suspects also provide bandits with women for pleasure. One of the suspects, Mariam Abubakar, has a boyfriend and a brother in the bandits’ camp. Mariam has also introduced girls to the bandits. Sometimes they go as far as demanding ransoms before releasing such girls. We appeal to community leaders and parents to work with law enforcement agencies.”
