Director of First City Monument Bank, Adanu Nuru embarked on a mandatory leave

Embattled Managing director of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Adam Nuru, has embarked on a mandatory leave amid allegations of marital infidelity involving him and a former staff of the bank, Moyo Lawal.

It was gathered that Moyo’s estranged husband, Tunde Thomas, 45, died on December 16, 2020 from heart attack after battling with depression upon discovering that the two children from their marriage were allegedly fathered by the FCMB boss.

According to reports by the deceased’s friends, Moyo had resigned from FCMB and travelled to the US with the two children, and thereafter informed Tunde that he was not the biological father of the children.

Over 1,000 people had signed a petition to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), calling for the sack of Nuru.

On Saturday, January 2, 2021, the bank released a statement saying its Board of Directors had commenced an investigation into the matter.

In an internal mail sent to all workers on Tuesday January 5, Nuru announced his plans to embark on leave immediately to allow the board to carry out an independent review of the circumstances surrounding the reports.

Orisabunmi’s death, end of an era: Kwara state Governor

Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has described the death of Folake Aremu, a thespian popularly known as Orisabunmi, as the end of a glorious era in the film-making industry.

“The Governor joins the rest of the country, especially Kwara people, to mourn the death of the great Orisabunmi who was one of the prides of the state on the continental artistic stage. He recalls her exploits in the 1980s through early 2000s when she beautifully depicted the great African subculture in the Yoruba movie industry. Her pacifist roles and the bravery she exuded in most of her appearances were quite legendary and would be sorely missed,” according to a statement by Chief Press Secretary Rafiu Ajakaye.

“The Governor describes Orisabunmi as one of the ‘last men standing’ in the tradition she represented in the Nollywood. His Excellency commiserates with the family of the deceased and the entire Nollywood community.

Late Tunde Thomas Friends Deny Paternity Allegation On Late Tunde’s Children, Absolves Nuru Adams

Friends Deny Paternity Allegation On Late Tunde Thomas’ Children, Absolves Nuru Adams

Friends of late Tunde Thomas have denied the allegations that his first wife told him her two children were fathered by FCMB MD, Mr. Nuru Adams.

Reacting to the allegations on behalf of friends of the late Mr Thomas, Mr Adetunji Iromini warned the public to be wary of a sponsored petition on change.org which they described as a wicked assault on Tunde’s cherished memory.

It says the allegations about the paternity of Tunde’s children with Moyo Thomas are unsubstantiated and malicious, adding they were intended to portray Tunde as an uncaring father and thereby rubbished his reputation.

Tunde is the father of the two children and Moyo never told him he was not their father as he was in touch constantly with the children, calling and having fatherly conversations with them, even at odd hours, at least twice every month from December, 2017.

The last of such calls took place on Thanksgiving Day on 26th November, 2020.

Tunde visited his children in USA in June 2018 and interacted with them unhindered after his recovery from the stroke he had earlier that year.

This, according to friends, does not paint the picture of a man who had been told he was not the father of his children as was maliciously stated in the petition and is being circulated on social media

The friends, who apologised to FCMB MD, Nuru Adams, said the unwarranted negative publicity is quite unfortunate in many ways.

“It does not augur well for the memory of the departed soul especially as we are all grieving the loss of Tunde, who was buried only on Wednesday, 30th December, 2020”.

According to Tunde’s friends, “the pictures of the children are being posted in the social media, without care and utter disregard for the human feelings at this trying period for the family”.

There would not have been any need to respond to issues raised in the petition but for the sake of posterity, and to defend the integrity of and loving memory of Tunde and his children.

Tunde was a very caring and responsible father to his two kids notwithstanding the misunderstanding he had with his wife, which is a matrimonial issue.

Like any marriage, there were differences between Moyo and Tunde leading to their separation and eventual relocation of Moyo to the USA in December, 2017.

It is important to note that the divorce process was never thought of or initiated by Moyo. And to the best of our knowledge, no divorce papers were ever served on Moyo.

This means that they were still legally married because Moyo and her family believed the channel for reconciliation was still open up until Tunde’s unfortunate demise.

Moyo and Tunde clearly worked to ensure the differences they had did not affect the relationship they respectively have with the two children.

It is very sad that a group of people have decided to take the differences between a married couple and misrepresent it into a sensational story. It is unfair to have the pictures of his young children splashed all over the internet.

Tunde had a mild stroke in 2018. By the grace of God, he was able to fully recover from this and carried on with his life. He was obviously doing well at his job and was in another relationship with a lady who was pregnant before his death.

Why he had a cardiac arrest that led to his eventual death almost 2 years after remains a mystery that only God can provide answers to. We can begin to postulate on possible reasons, but we would rather not, to preserve the fond memories of Tunde.

Tunde has now gone to be with his maker. We do wish his family and associates including his pregnant girlfriend, the fortitude to bear the unfortunate loss. He has now been laid to rest and we implore all to allow those grieving his loss, including Moyo and his children, to do so in peace.
May Tunde’s soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.

More revelations about Tunde Thomas death

One of Tunde’ friend narrates how Late Tunde Thomas Died Over Wife’s Alleged Affair With FCMB MD

Aman, Bolanle Cole, believed to be close to Tunde Thomas, the late husband of Moyo Thomas, who allegedly engaged in an affair with the Managing Director of the First City Monument Bank, Adam Nuru, has narrated the last moments of the deceased.

Cole said that Thomas, alias Tunde Gentle, 45, shed tears several times due to the depression and heartbreak he suffered because of his wife’s alleged affair with the FCMB MD.

Sharing the story on Twitter, Cole explained that Nigerians should demand action from FCMB, and if there was none, people should close their bank accounts in protest.

He said, “The two kids from his marriage were indeed fathered by a man without scruples or conscience, the current MD of FCMB, Adam Nuru, who was his wife’s boss (MD) in FCMB.

“FCMB, an organisation without proper rules or governance looked the other way while the open and unprofessional romance was going on between the MD and a subordinate staff member of the same organiation, a married woman.

“The MD, Adam Nuru, who was supposed to be the Chief Governance Officer and Chief Image Maker of FCMB spared no thought for the husband of this lady who was bringing up his (Nuru’s) two children, thinking they were his.

“He also did not think of the organisation he was leading while engaging in this foul conduct, the scandal with which no ethical organisation would want to be associated. Tunde was so in love with and attached to his wife and children that he spent most of his resources on them.

“He took them to London and Dubai on holidays. He also spared no penny in putting them in the best schools.

“Within a few months of hearing this news, Tunde suffered a stroke at about the age of 42. He recovered from the stroke but became a shadow of his former self. He would often shed tears from the blues.

“Recently, he tried to pick up the pieces of his life and started another relationship with a lawyer lady. Tunde had invited some friends to accompany him to visit the lady’s parents on 26th December. They were planning (to get) the materials to take along for the visit but alas, it was not to be.”

Cole added that Thomas died before the event and was buried on December 31.

He said, “Tunde got home from work on the night of 15th December. He got home only to collapse by his staircase and die immediately. Autopsy report puts the cause of death as heart failure.

“In the meantime, the family and friends of Tunde Thomas (alias Tunde Gentle) hereby wish to bring this shameful conduct to the knowledge of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the board and management of FCMB and to members of the public.

“We use this medium to call on FCMB to separate and detach its brand from this evil man, Adam Nuru, immediately. If this notice is ignored and Adam Nuru is at his desk in another two weeks from 30th December, 2020, we will be left with no option but to vehemently call the attention of the public to the abysmal lack of ethics in the organisation and to advise the members of the public to withdraw their funds and banking business from FCMB.”

As of Sunday, no fewer than 2,311 persons had called for the sacking of the FCMB MD, over the alleged infidelity.

A cross-section of Nigerians have also described the alleged sexual relationship between Nuru and his subordinate as unprofessional.

2021 Prophecies: God Showed Me Number Two Will Become Number One Without Election In Nigeria – Apostle Ebonyi

The Senior Pastor of Faith on the Rock Ministry International, Apostle Theophilus Ebonyi, has beckoned on Nigerians to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari.

Apostle Ebonyi in his prophecies for 2021, predicted a change in Nigerian government without a coup or election.

He disclosed that God revealed to him that the number two man will become the number one in Nigerian government.

Addressing journalists in Nasarawa, on Saturday, the clergyman said Nigerians should pray for Buhari’s government to over come demonic agenda against the country.

He said: “2021 is the year of the Lord where God himself will be humbling some demonic powers, forces and satanic agenda bedeviling the Nation.

“God revealed to me in the place of prayer his blessings and intervention in the affairs of the Nigeria that government will witness a shift that is going to give ground to the number two citizen to become number one so saith the Lord.

“We have to pray for the government and Nigerians, God loves this Nation, but the kingdom of darkness has come out fully against it, if we call on God genuinely he will still deliver us as in the case of Israelites in Egypt.”

The clergyman also said the COVID-19 virus would continue for another six months.

He claimed that government is not ready to end the pandemic, hence it would continue.

Apostle Ebonyi, however, assured that life will be more meaningful in 2021 without food for the citizens.
