Daily Devotional 17th Of March 2021- Attitude Is Everything

“Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh”. Genesis 41:14 KJV

According to Winston Churchill, greatness is in failing and failing and failing and yet having a brutal audacity and refusing to quit. It looks as if everything is lost, yet you have an audacity that says: “If I am going to fall, I will fall standing.” A brutal and a holy audacity while standing – that is the attitude that a child of God should have. They put Joseph in prison and then they had to beg him to come out. Some people cannot experience elevation because they have refused to interpret the dreams that will bring them out of prison. They are bitter with everyone. You refused because you don’t understand relationship – that your lifting is connected to somebody.

Child of God, attitude is everything; not your qualification! Today, even the marketplace has discovered that apart from your qualification, expertise, skill and other things, attitude is key. You can have all it takes but if you can’t work with people, no one wants to hire you because you will destroy the work. Even in the face of difficulties, Joseph maintained the right attitude. He served Potiphar. He could have been bitter but he chose to serve. He served in every quarter he found himself until he got to the palace where Pharaoh appointed him as ruler. Pharaoh was just sitting on the throne but the real person ruling was Joseph; at his word, every person obeyed. He was respected! But when he was going down, it looked like he was a loser.

When he finally revealed himself to his brethren, he wasn’t boastful about it. He didn’t use his elevation as an opportunity for payback. Rather, he encouraged his brothers and gave them assurance. “Now, therefore, be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life” (Genesis 45:5 KJV).

Daily Devotional 15Th Of March 2021: God Loves You

“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved.” Ephesians 2:4-5. KJV

According to God’s word, while we yet sinners and without strength, Christ died for us. You didn’t qualify but He qualified you: “…And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him, that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father…” (Revelation 1:5-6 KJV).

Look at the progression: He has always loved you. He will always love you and will never stop. It is not predicated on what you did or not. God loves you just the way you are. He knows you in and out, your weakness and shortcomings; still, He loves you. When human beings know your weakness, when you make a mistake, they will stop loving you. But God’s love is unconditional. It never comes empty because He is favourably disposed to dispense only good. Hence, it is an abuse of redemption to expect bad in your life. No matter where you are right now, it can never be worst in your life.

The believer’s life is from glory to glory. It may not look as if many things have happened. Many times, God seems to be silent but then He is always working behind the scene. When your blessing is delayed, it is because it is a big blessing.

You will certainly sing a new song. “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou was slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood… And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth” (Revelation 5:9-10 KJV). He has made us all in His own responsibility! Why won’t I love him? How can I possibly payback for all His goodness?

Bandits Reach Ogun State, Kidnap Two University Female Students

Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Sunday night kidnapped two female students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ayetoro Campus, Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Residents, who spoke with Vanguard under the condition of anonymity, said the gunmen, captured and abducted the two students who were said to be returning home at the time.

The abducted female students have been identified as Adeyemo Oluwaseun Precious (300 level Forestry and Wildlife Management) and Oyefule Oluwatosin Abisola (300 level, Agricultural Economics).

It was further gathered that the suspected bandits targeted a female call card voucher bulk dealer living in the area.

But due to their failure to break through the gate to her house, which they had attacked, they resorted to abducting the two female varsity students, who were returning from an outing.

“Being unable to gain access, they started shooting sporadically to create fear, and it was at this point Seun and Tosin were returning home, which is the same house the calling card dealer lives near Igbole Aibo Community Primary School, Aibo Quarter, Ayetoro, Ogun State,” a resident said.

Biafra Is A Joke, Lai Muhammed Replies Asari Dokubo

The Federal Government has dismissed the purported formation of another version of the Biafra agitation by an ex-militant leader, Mujahid Asari Dokubo, describing the move as a “theatre of the absurd by a joker seeking attention’’.

Alhaji Lia Muhammed said, “I am sure you have heard of the theatre of the absurd, that is the best way I can describe it.

“If Asari Dokubo wants to form and run a fathom government, I think he is free to do so.

“This administration will not be distracted because we still have a lot to do.

“We are not ready to give any attention or time to a joker like Dokubo who is just looking for attention.

“We will just take it as one of these entertainment things.

“The beauty about Nigeria is that it is never a dull country, you must have one thing or the other to entertain you,’’ he said.

The Lagos State Government has warned its residents not to jettison observance of COVID-19 guidelines, saying they might still contract the deadly virus after vaccination.
The state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, who disclosed this at a press briefing on the official rollout said the only advantage those vaccinated have when they contract coronavirus is that the severity will not be too much.

“Note that you might still contract COVID-19 after vaccination, but the level of severity might not be much after achieving this level of immunity,” Abayomi said.

Fani-Kayode Lying Merchant, Misinformation Expert – OPC

The Coordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress in Oyo State, Mr Rotimi Olumo, has described a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, as a ‘lie merchant and an expert in misinformation.’

The statement read, “Fani- Kayode is one of the politicians that thrive in telling lies. He has a reputation for using his social media page to foment trouble and cause disunity in Yorubaland. He had once said that Yoruba language was Anago. How can you take such a person too serious?

“I remember former President Olusegun Obasanjo once said that Fani-Kayode can do anything for money and survival.

“He lives in Abuja, romancing with the North, yet he was the first to refute the claim that the kidnapper was not Wakili. Where did he get his information?

“With his untenable claim, I know and I am sure that the former minister is doing the bid of his paymasters, who are majorly from the North. He is the undisputed spokesperson for any politician that is ready to feather his nest.

“He should be warned to stop drumming the beat of disunity in Yorubaland. Fani-Kayode was one of the few people that called and congratulated our leader, the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams on Monday, on the success of the operation of the OPC, and the following day, he twisted the story refuting the claim that the man apprehended wasn’t Wakili.”

Narrating his experience during the raid to capture Wakili, Olumo stated that the operation that led to the arrest of Wakili and three other persons lasted over five hours, with a fierce battle ensuing between the OPC, the joint security operatives and the suspects.

Asari Dokubo Forms Biafra Customary Government (BCG)

Asari Dokubo, leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Force, has declared the formation of Biafra Customary Government (BCG).

Uche Mefor, BCG’s head of information and communications, said Dokubo also named those who would serve as leaders in the government alongside himself.

He added that they would proceed to set up provincial structures for the new government.

“We as people have resolved that as Biafra, it’s time for us to take our destiny in our hands and bring freedom to ourselves and our children and the generation of Biafrans yet unborn,” he said.

“I hesitate a little but I thank God that it’s time for us to do our duty and our service to motherland, I have accepted this role. I have dedicated my life hundred percent to play this role.

“My first act today in taking this position is to name those who would be on the driver’s seat to navigate through this period of tempest, this period of uncertainty with me.

“I want to call on our brother, George Onyibe to come on board to join as the secretary of the defacto customary government of the State of Biafra. He will take care of the administrative, day to day administration of the Biafra State.

“I also call on our brother Emeka Emeka Esiri to take care of the legal needs of this nascent government.

“My brothers and sisters, the four of us will kick start the process, others will come on board. We want volunteers who are committed, we want volunteers because there is nothing anymore. We are the people who have volunteered to salvage ourselves and the rest of us.

“I also call on Biafrans in the various province of the Biafra nations in Aba, Abakiliki, Anang, Awka, Calabar, Degema, Eket, Enough, Nsuka, Ogoja, Oji River, Okigwe, Onitsha, Opobo, Orlu, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Umuahia, Uyo and Yenegoa province.

“We are going to proceed to set up provincial structures of government starting with provincial assemblies and provincial governance and administrators.

Dokubo also noted that although the new Biafran government would not go to war, it would not be stopped.

“Nobody can stop us. Nobody can blockade us as they did in the first war. We’re not going to fight any war with anybody, we’re walking to freedom,” he said.

“We will not shoot any gun with them, they will prepare their weapon but they will have nobody to kill with their weapon.”
