Nigeria overtakes Iraq as country with highest number of Islamic State attacks .

Jihad Analytics says Nigeria has overtaken Iraq as the country where the terrorist group Islamic State (IS) has claimed the highest number of operations.The Geneva-based open-source intelligence outlet made the revelation on Friday in an infographic. “Since the beginning of the year, the Islamic State has conducted half of its attacks in #Africa. For the first time in the history of the jihadi group, Iraq is no longer the country where #IS claims the highest number of operations: the group #ISWAP is now more active in Nigeria,” Jihad Analytics tweeted on Friday. Nigeria has 162 attacks claimed by IS, with Iran and Syria trailing behind at 120 and 77 attacks. ISWAP, a breakaway insurgent group from Boko Haram, has plagued Nigeria’s northeast region killing scores and displacing over two million people in the region.The Global Terrorism Index named the IS as the world’s deadliest terror group, replacing the Taliban. Nigeria ranks in 6th place with a score of 8.233. The reports pegged IS, Al-Shabaab, the Taliban and Jamaat Nusrat Al-Islam wal Muslimeen (JNIM) as the terrorist groups responsible for the most deaths in 2021.The report also noted that the groups had killed about 3,364, representing 47 per cent of total deaths in 2021.The IS and its affiliate groups Islamic State–Khorasan Province (ISKP), Islamic State–Sinai Province (ISSP), and Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA) recorded the most attacks and deaths of any terrorist group in 2021. IS deaths represented 29 per cent of all deaths from terrorism globally in 2021.

Buhari Government Accuses Ghana, Others Of Lobbying Companies To Leave Nigeria

Minister of industry, trade and investment, Otumba Adeniyi Adebayo, yesterday told the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts that several African countries were lobbying companies registered and operating in Nigeria to relocate to their countries.

The minister who led other agencies under the ministry to appear before the committee to respond to queries from the auditor-general of the federation said the Nigerian government was doing everything possible to ensure that such companies don’t leave again.He said many of the countries, including Ghana has increased their capital allowances to companies and have taken away lots of investment from the country, adding that what is keeping some companies in the country today is Nigeria’s population.

He said the government was looking for ways of increasing the level of new investment in the country and sustaining existing ones, saying “our duty is to support investment growth In Nigeria. It is public knowledge that getting this investment is increasingly becoming difficult today.”

Ghana bans spending in foreign currencies.

The Ghanaian government has banned spending and transacting businesses in foreign currencies in the country.

The Central Bank of Ghana disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday, warning citizens and companies to stop transacting business, pricing goods and services and advertising in foreign currencies.

According to the country’s apex bank, it is illegal for individuals, companies, institutions, and others to engage in foreign exchange business without an appropriate licence from the regulator.

“Engaging in foreign exchange business without a licence issued by Bank of Ghana; or pricing, advertising, receipting or making payments for goods and services in foreign currency in Ghana, without written authorisation from Bank of Ghana,” the statement reads.

“Such violations are punishable on summary conviction by a fine of up to seven hundred (700) penalty units or a term of imprisonment of not more than eighteen months(18) or both.”

The bank also cautioned the public to stop transacting business from the black market.

“Bank of Ghana hereby cautions the general public to desist from dealing in illegal forex activities (black market transactions), pricing, advertising, receipting or making payments for goods and services in foreign currency in Ghana, without the requisite licence or authorization from Bank of Ghana,” it added.

“The Public is hereby notified that the sole legal tender in Ghana is the Ghana Cedi.

Czech Republic Becomes The First NATO Country To Send Tanks To Ukraine.

The Czech Republic has sent T-72 tanks and BVP-1 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine, a Czech defence source told Reuters on Tuesday, confirming a local media report.Public broadcaster Czech Television initially reported the shipment, showing footage on Twitter of a train loaded with five tanks and five fighting vehicles. It said the shipment was a gift agreed with NATO allies.The broadcaster said the information was confirmed by the head of the Czech lower house’s European Affairs Committee Ondrej Benesik, who told Reuters he received the information from his Christian Democrat Party’s expert on defence.Defence Minister Jana Cernochova told parliament she would not confirm or deny details of Czech aid to Ukraine.”I will only assure you that the Czech Republic … is helping Ukraine as much as it can and will continue to help by (supplying) military equipment, both light and heavy,” Cernochova said.Native Reporters

Cows Belong To Our Boss’ As Soldiers Attack Amotekun Over Seized Cows.

Soldiers from the 32 Artillery Brigade, Ondo State and operatives of the State Security Network dubbed as Amotekun Corps, on Tuesday evening, clashed over the seizure of over 100 cows by the latter in Akure, the state capital.The cows were seized for allegedly violating the state’s anti-grazing law.According to sources, Amotekun operatives seized the cows after receiving distress calls from farmers.Farmers in the Oke-Aro axis of Akure metropolis neighborhood had cried out over the invasion of their farms by the cows and herders where crops were destroyed.One of the sources said the military invaded the location and stopped the cows from being taken away.The soldiers were said to have claimed that the cows belonged to their superiors in the barracks.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has passed Biafra freedom to younger generations, nobody can stop it – Bruce Fein

Kanu’s US Attorney, Mr. Bruce Fein Esq has broken silence after IPOB published a libelous press statement against his person. Mr. Fein made this statement after KANU through his lawyer, Bar. Alloy Ejimakor reaffirmed that he is still part and parcel of his legal team, giving strict warning to his supporters to stop using a discouraging statement against him.

Mr. Fein in his statement which he made through his Twitter official handle, told the world leaders that the agitation has been transferred to the younger generation through the unceasing awareness earlier created by IPOB leader MAZI NNAMDI KANU.

He also told the Fulani led Nigerian government that their illegal actions against Biafran are being closely monitored and the world will pay them back in their own coin in due time. According to Fein:

Lai Mohammed’s Supporters Dumped APC For SDP In Kwara

More facts have emerged on why members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who are loyalists of Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed defected to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kwara state.

The former APC members who are at loggerheads with Kwara state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazq said the emergence of Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the national chairman of the APC influenced their decision to call it quit with the party.

Alhaji Lawal Shehu, a chieftain of the party said they strongly believed that they cannot get justice in the APC since Adamu, who was the chairman of the party’s reconciliation committee is now the national chairman.When asked whether they got the blessing of Lai Mohammed to leave the APC for SDP, he said the Minister appealed to them not to dump the party as the whole issue will be sorted out before the election but they can’t wait because the election is just few months away.

Abuja Chief Imam Suspended For Criticising Buhari Over Kaduna Train Bombing

The chief Imam of Apo Juma’at Mosque in Abuja, Sheikh Nuru Khalid, has been suspended by the mosque’s steering committee for criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari over Kaduna train bombing.

The Imam, in his Friday sermon, had criticized the president for failure to visit Kaduna over the daring terrorist attack, saying condemnation wasn’t enough.He argued that the president was in Kaduna for campaign but refused to visit the state after the bomb attack.”Everyone condemned the incident, except the bandits. So condemnation is not enough.

The president should visit the state to sympathise with the victims.”The president has been to Kaduna for campaigns but couldn’t go to the state on a sympathy visit,” he said.The chairman of the mosque steering committee, Sai’du Dansadau, however said the Imam was sacked for inciting sermon on April 1
