Daily Devotional 13Th Of March 2021: God Is Not A Taker.

“…By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.” Genesis 22:16-18 KJV

God didn’t ask for Ishmael but Isaac, the one Abraham loved. Recall that Abraham had waited for Isaac for 25 years before the promise eventually manifested. Afterwards, God comes saying: ‘’bring him to me and sacrifice him to me on a mountain I will show you.’’ When Abraham saw the mountain afar off, he told the servants to wait behind. “…Abide ye here with the ass, and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you’’ (Genesis 22:5 KJV). Notice that Abraham said: “I and the lad will go yonder and worship…” He didn’t say to kill him. God is not a killer or a taker!

Whenever God demands something from you, it is in your best interest. I have seen that all through the scriptures. When your sacrifice becomes worship, God will show you who He is. When Abraham lifted his hand to kill his son, God showed up. He said: “I just wanted to know how much you love me. I wanted to know whether you prefer this gift than me the Giver! A lamb has already been provided.’’ That is what Jehovah ‘Jireh’ means.

Ever before you got to the mountain of obedience, God was already there on your behalf. The ram was caught in a thicket. Look at that! You know that rams fight with their horns. God was saying in effect, ‘’I have taken the fight out of your blessing.’’ You are not going to struggle to get it. No more fight! You are getting it released to you.

“The Owo people cannot enter that forest. As I am talking to you some illegal miners are mining our gold at Ilesha and Ile-Ife. Do you know degenerated to crises of kidnapping in Ibarakpa?

“They were mining solid minerals at Igangan. That was one of the resources that gave Wakili more money to be more powerful to buy guns that led to kidnappings. They started from one place and eventual settled with kidnappings.

“There is this community in Oyo, beside Ago-Are…they call it Ira-Woli community. They are mining solid minerals there as I am talking to you. In Ijere too, they are mining our solid minerals as I am talking to you.

Daily Devotional 12Th Of March 2021: Be Faithful With What He Gave You

“For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?” 1 Corinthians 4:7 KJV

How did you make it in life? Can you explain it? Of course not! The fact that God has graced you does not make you better than any person. Let’s begin to understand this truth so that we don’t create a problem for ourselves. The fact that somebody has a bigger church does not make him better than others in the sight of God. When those who were given 5, 2 and 1 talents came back with results, the Lord told them: “…Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord” (Matthew 25:21 KJV).

Before God gives you thousands to manage, He first graces you, so that you can manage them. It is not by might or power but by His Spirit. The important thing is how faithful you are with what He gave to you. Thus, Paul says: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service” (Romans 12:1 KJV). ‘Service’ there means to worship. Present your body and your life as worship.

Your salvation was not your idea. You didn’t deliver yourself, but God did. It is God who gave you the rain, the sun, the moon, stars, even the ground you walk upon. God provided everything about your life. It is God who manages this human-machine that you call your body. The Psalmist says: “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well” (Psalms 139:14 KJV).

We should serve God faithfully with everything He has given to us. That is our reasonable service. Let’s begin to see Him for who He is and understand that without Him, we are going nowhere.

I Am Going To Be The Winner Of 2023 Presidential Race

I Will Win Presidential Race In 2023 – Rochas Okorocha

The Senator representing the Imo West Senatorial District, Rochas Okorocha on Thursday, said he will succeed president Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

The former governor of Imo State, stated this when a group of youth under the umbrella of ‘Forward with Anayo Rochas Okorocha (FOWARO 2023)’ visited him in Abuja, the nations capital.

Okorocha who stated that he had contested for the office three times but failed at the primary level, expressed optimism of winning the race in 2023.

He said he aspired to become president of Nigeria long ago, stressing that the first time he picked the presidential ticket was over 20 years back under the platform of ANPP.

“I have contested for the office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria three times.

“The first time, l ran when l was very young; 20 years ago, and l ran on the platform of ANPP. Later, l ran on the platform of the PDP where l came second and the last one was APC in 2014.

“So, l have been in the business of running for this office. This time, it will be the fourth attempt. I am hoping to be the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Every time l started, l got stopped at the primary level, but this time around when l do run, l must win the race,” he said.

Okorocha is one of the founding fathers of the All Progressives Congress, APC, which came into force prior to the 2015 general election.

Supreme Court Reduces Dariye’s 10-year Jail Term To 2years

The Supreme Court today delivered judgment in the appeal filed by jailed former Plateau State Governor, Senator Joshua Chibi Dariye.

A five-man panel of the court, led by Justice Mary Odili, dismissed the conviction of criminal breach meted out to Dariye which carried a 10-year sentence, and instead did uphold the misappropriation of funds which carries a 2-year sentence.

Dariye, a former Governor of Plateau State (1999-2003) was in 2018 convicted by a FCT High Court by Justice Adebukola Banjoko.

Appeals to your judgement do not succeed, we will fall on your mercy. The prisons are congested. They misled the Governor, it is the bank, they said he didn’t have to present anything.” he said

Firing back, Counsel to the EFCC, Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), said Dariye did not deserve a light sentence because he “didn’t show remorse” and that a strong sentence would serve as a deterrence to those holding public offices.

“He is not remorseful, his case should serve as a deterrence,” Jacobs said.

At this point, Dariye said he wanted to speak.

“Have mercy, you are a Christian, your name is Jacob,” he said.

Youths Shouldn’t Join Politics Now, Be Successful First – Umahi

Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, has cautioned youths of the state against indulging in politics, telling them to be successful first.

The governor gave this directive on Wednesday during an Ebonyi State #EndSARS Summit hosted by the state government in Abakaliki.

Umahi said, “Remove your minds from politics and succeed first. Those who are manipulating politics are the wealthy men and women.

“I hear government should provide jobs. Let us even say jobs are provided, N30, 000 minimum wages. In one year, it is N360, 000. What are you doing with that?”

“You can only give what you have. Some of you run after the politicians, some of them never went to school. Some of them have nothing to offer, they brainwash you.

“You become their thugs, their families are overseas. It is our own, what are you doing at a party? A party you know in Ebonyi State is me,” he added.

Meghan and Harry: 12 things we learned from the Oprah special

Prince Harry and Meghan have taken part in an extraordinary interview with Oprah Winfrey, making a series of far-reaching allegations about life inside the royal family.Meghan Markle Tells Oprah “A Lot Has Been Lost” in Interview Trailer

Here are 12 things we learned:

  1. Mental health crisis

The Duchess of Sussex says she had suicidal thoughts during her time as a working royal. “I just didn’t want to be alive any more. And that was a very clear and real and frightening constant thought. And I remember how he [Harry] just cradled me.” She claimed she asked the palace for help and was denied it. “They said, my heart goes out to you because I see how bad it is, but there’s nothing we can do to protect you because you’re not a paid employee of the institution.”

  1. Racism allegations

The Duchess claimed that while she was pregnant with Archie concerns were raised with Prince Harry about the skin colour of their baby. “In those months when I was pregnant, all around this same time, so we have in tandem the conversation of, ‘You won’t be given security, not gonna be given a title’ and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.” Meghan declined to name who expressed those concerns: “I think that would be very damaging to them.”

Harry refused to share the details of the conversation but, after prompting from Winfrey, said the questions was along the lines of: “What will the kids look like?”

  1. Feud with Duchess of Cambridge

Duchess denied a newspaper story that she had made the Duchess of Cambridge cry before Meghan and Harry’s wedding, and said it was a turning point in her relations with the media. Asked if she made Kate cry, Meghan replied: “The reverse happened.”

Meghan said Kate was a “good person” but added: “A few days before the wedding she [Kate] was upset about something, pertaining to – yes the issue was correct – about the flower girl dresses, and it made me cry. And it really hurt my feelings.” She said Kate apologised at the time and brought her flowers.

  1. Meghan was ‘silenced’

“Everyone in my world was given a very clear directive from the moment the world knew Harry and I were dating, to always say no comment.”

Meghan said she believed she was being protected by the royal institution.

“It was only once we were married and everything started to really worsen that I came to understand that not only was I not being protected but … they weren’t willing to tell the truth to protect me and my husband.”

She agreed with Oprah’s that she had been “silenced” rather than “silent” from the moment she started dating Harry.

Asked if she was not supported by the powers that be, she said: “There’s the family, and then there’s the people that are running the institution, those are two separate things and it’s important to be able to compartmentalise that because the queen, for example, has always been wonderful to me.”

  1. Prince Charles stopped taking Harry’s calls

Prince Harry said his father Prince Charles stopped taking his calls about the plan to step aside from royal duties. He denied blindsiding the Queen, saying he had too much respect for her. “I had three conversations with my grandmother, and two conversations with my father before he stopped taking my calls. And then he said, can you put this all in writing?”

Asked why Charles had stopped taking his calls, Harry said: “By that point I took matters into my own hands, it was like, I needed to do this for my family. This is not a surprise to anybody. It’s really sad that it’s got to this point, but I’ve got to do something for my own mental health, my wife’s and for Archie’s as well.”

Prince Charles is now taking his calls but “there’s a lot of hurt that’s happened” and the pair have “lots to work through”, he said. “I feel really let down,” Harry said. “He’s been through something similar, he knows what pain feels like.”

  1. Prince Harry has been cut off financially

He said he stopped receiving palace money in the first quarter of 2020. He said that needing to pay for his own security costs was part of the motivation behind the couple’s lucrative deals with companies including Netflix.

The only other money he has left, he said, is what was left to him by Princess Diana.

Meghan said the pair were not being paid for the Oprah interview.

  1. Secret wedding

Meghan revealed they married in private, three days before their public wedding ceremony on 19 May 2018. Meghan said they exchanged vows “just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury”.

  1. It’s a girl

The couple revealed the gender of their second child. Harry said the baby, due in the northern hemisphere summer, is a girl. He said he felt “amazing, just grateful”. “To have a boy and then a girl what more can you ask for, we have our family.”

The couple said this would be their last child. “Two is it,” they said.

  1. Meghan rarely able to leave home

Meghan said she was barely allowed to leave the house, because people at “the Firm” – a term for the royal household – were so worried about “how things might look”.

“I know you’re worried about how it looks,” she told them, “but has anyone thought about how it feels?” Because she couldn’t have felt lonelier, she said.

  1. Harry felt ‘trapped’

Oprah asked Harry whether he would have stepped back from royal duties were it not for Meghan. “No,” Harry said, he would not have. He said he was trapped, but that he didn’t know he was trapped.

Oprah asked exactly how he was trapped. “Trapped within the system, like the rest of my family are. My father, my brother, they are trapped,” he said.

  1. The Queen is “wonderful”

It was not all bad all the time. Meghan said the Queen was always “wonderful” and remembered a train journey they took together when the Queen gave her some pearl earrings and a necklace, and shared a blanket with her.

Prince Harry said he had a really good relationship with his grandmother. “She’s my commander in chief.”

  1. They have rescue chickens

Oprah interviewed the couple briefly at their Santa Barbara home. The interview took place in and around a chicken coop, filled with chickens they rescued from a factory farm. Oprah held a carton of eggs. Meghan held a small basket of eggs. The chicken coop said “Archie’s Chick Inn”.

Daily Devotional 9th Of March 2021- Remember What He Had Done For You

“And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.” Genesis 22:5 KJV

Abraham was a man who waited for 25 years before he got what he was waiting for. “And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, “Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou loveth, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of” (Genesis 22:1-2 KJV).

Tempting in this context doesn’t mean God was testing Abraham to fail. No! He wanted to prove his heart – “Isaac whom thou love!” So, a sacrifice must be something you love. God so loved the world He gave up His beloved Son. Abraham rose up and obeyed without any argument…and he had waited for this son for 25 years.

Abraham made the sacrifice willingly because he remembered how God called him out of Ur of Chaldees at a time when he had given up on himself. When the grace of God reached out to him, Abraham was without visions, goals and aspirations. He was ready to die, and God told him it was not over yet. God wanted to show Abraham what He could do with a life yielded to Him. “…Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing” (Genesis 12:1-2 KJV).

Have you sat down to consider what God has done for you? What He prevented for your good? Have you ever sat down to consider God’s protection over your children? When you have this revelation, there is nothing that you will not release for the sake of Christ. Thus, every sacrifice becomes worship.
