We Are Ready To Crush Bandits Now They Have Been Declared Terrorists – Malami

Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN said the Federal Government’s determination to crush banditry remains unwavering now that the Court has granted application filed by his Office declaring bandits groups as terrorist organisations.

This is made known by Dr. Umar Jibrilu Gwandu, Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations, Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice in a statement issued to newsmen.

According to the statement the declaration is a demonstration of the determination of the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and indeed the Federal Government in doing things in accordance with the rule of law.

“The development is a pointer to the commitment of the Federal Government to adhere to the international standards in respecting the rules of engagement in the fight against terrorism, separatists organisations, insurgency and banditry in the country,” he said.

The Government will gazette, publish the publicise the proscription order.

Tinubu Is Under Investigation But It’s Gonna Take Time – EFCC Chairman, Bawa

Abdulrasheed Bawa, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has hinted that the Commission is currently investigating Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bawa disclosed that the investigation would take time because it takes time.

According to Bawa: “You asked me a question earlier about arresting people before an investigation and now you are saying why didn’t we arrest Tinubu? Why didn’t you just say ‘arrest him’?

“Investigation is ongoing. When you are investigating matters like this, they don’t end in a day. Thousands of investigations are going on, on a daily basis.

“You understand? You know you are from the media. After you will say we are doing a media trial.”

The chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress, Joe Igbokwe has taken to his official Facebook account to speak about the influence Bola Ahmed Tinubu has in the South West. He recounted the statement made by Comrade Eze Harris Chuma about searching for an Igbo man who can play the role of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the South East.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu is well known for his political influence in Lagos and South West. His influence earned him the “Asiwaju of Lagos” title and some people referred to him as the godfather of Lagos’s politics.

He referred to names like Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, Babatunde Fashola, Rauf Aregbesola, Babatunde Fowler and how they worked for Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He believes Bola Ahmed Tinubu did the needful to command respect and influence in South West. He looks forward to a day, South-East politicians would put their differences aside and work for the common good of the people.

2023: Don’t Vote For PDP, El-Rufai Begs Nigerians

Alleges Shehu Sani & Hunkuyi sabotage development in the state

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has begged the people of Kaduna state not to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming elections billed in 2023.

El-Rufai argued that if voted PDP would drag Nigeria to the problems of yesterday.

He said the people should rally round and vote for the person he would anoint as the state Governor in 2023. The outspoken Governor advised the Kaduna people to trust him in his choice for them.

He alleged that if not for the recalcitrant attitude of former Senators Shehu Sani and Suleiman Hunkuyi, development in Kaduna state would have surpassed the feat achieved by his administration which Kaduna people are now celebrating.

He singled out the just completed ultra modern Kawo bridge, saying credit should not be given to him alone but also to the lawmakers who assured the project had legislative backing ,and also to the people of Kaduna State who supported his administration.

According to him, Shehu Sani and Suleiman Hunkuyi’s action had retarded growth and development in the state ,pointing out that come 2023 ,people should be wary of who they vote to avoid bringing in elements that are enemies of Kaduna state who should be cursed.

” May Almighty Allah ‘s wrath befall them ,” El-Rufai prayed, amidst a thunderous Amen in the Ahmadu Bello Stadium’ Gymnasium Hall where hundreds of people had converged for the launching of the New Finance Function in the state.

Nigerian Senator Gbenga Aluko Slumps, Dies At 58

A former governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Senator Gbenga Aluko, is dead.

The politician was said to have passed away on Saturday after slumping in his office in Abuja.

He was subsequently taken to a hospital but it was already too late.

According to the report, one of Aluko’s aides told Radio Nigeria that Aluko was not sick and did not show any symptom of being ill prior to his death.

According to another source, the son of the late economist, Prof Sam Aluko had a heart attack.

Born on 20 July 1963, Gbenga Aluko was elected Senator for the Ekiti South constituency of Ekiti State at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic, running on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform. He took office on 29 May 1999. He was there till 2003.

Aluko in 2018 unsuccessfully contested the governorship ticket on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State.

2023: Tinubu Visits Orji Kalu, HoldsClosed Door Meeting

Former Governor of Lagos State and Chieftain of the All Progressive’s Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu has just arrived at the Aso-Villa, Abuja Home of the former Governor of Abia State and current Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

Tinubu arrived at Kalu’s residence at exactly 4:25 PM Both men hugged one another, exchanged cordial pleasantries and proceeded for an indoor meeting.
Reports gathered that Shortly before they engaged in the meeting; Kalu expressed his gratitude to God for his speedy recovery.Tinubu, , returned to Nigeria on October 8 after spending months in London, where he underwent knee surgery.

The reason for their meeting is not yet known to newsmen but it might not be unconnected with political and economic reasons.

The visit comes amidst talks that both men are being strongly positioned for the 2023 presidency to succeed the incumbent President Buhari.

Both men were former Governors of their respective states within the same tenure. While Tinubu was a former Senator, Orji Uzor Kalu is the current Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District in the 9th Senate.

IPOB Paid US Lobbyists To Spread Falsehood About Nigeria – Garba Shehu

The Nigerian Presidency has claimed that the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB paid millions of dollars to American Lobbyists to spread falsehoods about Nigeria.

Garba said the placement of Nigeria on the US religious blacklist was allegedly orchestrated by the group.

Lawyers Who Delay Justice To Get Stringent Punishment – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has called on the judiciary to devise and deploy stringent measures against lawyers, who in the cause of servicing their clients employ all kinds of delay tactics thereby hindering the speedy dispensation of justice in the country.

President Buhari predicated the call on the need to make the justice sector more efficient and effective as to preserve the nation’s democracy as well as attract foreign investment.

He said this yesterday, while declaring open the 2021 All Nigeria Judges’ Conference of the Superior Courts.

Buhari, who was represented by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo at the event, expressed concern over the impact of delays in the administration of the justice system as well as the image of the judiciary and by extension the country.

He appreciated the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Ibrahim Muhammad for the proactive measures taken in tackling the menace of conflicting court orders by courts of coordinate jurisdiction and efforts at revolutionizing the process of selection and appointment of judges.

We Dont Know Lai Mohammed In Kwara, He Was In Imported From Lagos – APC Elders

Leaders and elders of the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have slammed the minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, over his comments against Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The elders, were reacting to the comments made by the minister about the governor in a recent newspaper interview.

According to their spokesman, Ambassador Nurudeen Mohammed at a news conference in Ilorin, the state capital on Monday, “For Lai Mohammed to denigrate Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s political status in Kwara State and his role in the funding of the 2019 elections is most unfortunate”.

He said the minister “was exported to the state from Lagos to take over governance like his colleagues in other Yoruba states at the expense of the people (politicians) who had been on the ground for decades.”
