PHOTOS: FG Evacuates 542 Stranded Nigerians From UAE
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission has disclosed that the Federal Government has evacuated 542 Nigerians, who are stranded in the United Arab Emirates.
A total of 542 stranded Nigerians in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) evacuated by the Federal Government arrived Nnamdi Azikiwe Int’l Airport Abuja on board the #MaxAirLtd Charted flight. The plane touched down at 4:29 am today 23/10/2022.
Devastating floods have continued to ravage Niger Delta communities, sweeping pythons and other reptiles into the areas – a development which has heightened panic among residents.
Residents now scamper for safety for fear of being killed.
The ravaging flood which has cut off parts of the East-West Road has continued to wreak havoc in communities along the bank of the River Niger.
The flood had swept away at least eight residents as well as destroyed crops and houses worth millions of naira in the state.
Meanwhile, some travellers on the East-West Road have been stranded as others resort to use of canoes to cross over to the other side to board vehicles to continue their journeys.
While lamenting that the flood has overwhelmed one part of the Ughelli-Patani axis of the East-West Road, he said, “Trucks conveying relief materials to that axis have been trapped. We now make use of speed boats to access the IDP camps to deliver materials to the victims.”
He said 4,755 persons including men, women, children, lactating mothers, pregnant women and persons with disabilities, had so far been registered at the camps across the state, lamenting that 19 out of the 25 local government areas were affected by the flood.
The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja today Thursday upheld the appeal of the detained IPOB leader. The court discharged and acquitted him of all charges. This was disclosed by Bar Ifeanyi Ejiofor – Oyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer. We have won!,” he declared.
A 42-year old married man, Talabi Oluwaseyi Samuel, fainted at the Ejigbo Magistrates Court premises in Lagos State as he was arraigned over his inability to pay N70,000 hotel bills and for sex with a lady for three days.
Reports has it that Samuel sIumped, became unconscious and was heard saying that the hotel management has exposed his adulterous life as his wife would know he had been cheating her over the years.
The suspect, Samuel was said to have taken a lady, Becky Alaneme, to Mayoral Hotel located at Aminu Ajibade Street, Unity Estate in Idimu, lodged with her for days without paying both her service charge and for lodging accommodation and wanted to escape.
However, the hotel manager held him and contacted the Police at Idimu Division. He was subsequently arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the conduct.
During interrogation, it was discovered that he was owing over N70,000 for the bills he had incurred and was asked to pay the bills and the lady, Becky, for her services. He refused and claimed that he had no money to settle the bills.
The Police equally made every efforts to resolve the matter and even asked him to contact his family but he refused to do so.
He was then taken to the Court to be arraigned for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.
When the bus, which brought him to the Court was about the drop him, he shouted and slumped inside the Courtroom to the surprise of the litigants and Court officials present, who thought initially that he was pretending in order to escape arraignment.
He was on the floor of the Court room for several minutes when the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K.A. Ariyo, came to sit and ordered his remand in Police custody pending when he will be ready to be arraigned for the alleged offence.
Co-founder Of Bukka Hut, Olaolu Martins, Is Dead
Olaolu Martins, the co-founder of fast food chain, Bukka Hut, is dead.
His death was announced on the social media handle of the eatery on Wednesday afternoon.
Part of the statement signed by the company’s Managing Director, Rasheed Jaycofa, read, “With a heavy heart we regret to announce the demise of one of our directors and co-owners- Mr Olaolu Martins who was until his death, a key contributor and strong pillar to our business from inception to date. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. May his dear soul rest in perfect peace.”

Five yet-to-be-identified ladies who were trapped when a storey building in the Maryland area of Lagos State, sunk due to rainfall, have been rescued on Monday.
The Lagos Territorial Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the development in a statement.
The sinking building is located at 47 Akinwunmi street, Akinwunmi North Estate, Mende, Maryland, Ikeja.

It is imparative that our people understand this and go about their daily work and businesses on Monday and get prepared for Tuesday the 13th of September 2022 because Biafraland will be LOCKED DOWN COMPLETELY.
Secondly, it has come to the knowledge of the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra that the Vulture in IKONSO HOUSE in Owerri the Imo state Government office has decided to insult the memories of our gallant men and women and of the youths of Imo State that he has been murdering in collaboration with the Nigerian terrorists in Army, police and DSS uniform by inviting the Imposter in Aso Rock Buhari to Oweeri the Imo state capital Tuesday the 13th of September 2022 the very same day the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will be appearing in Court. What an affrontry and insult upon the land of Biafra and the people of Biafra.

Carnegie Mellon University in the United States, where Nigerian-born professor, Uju Anya, works has distanced itself from her recent tweet on the death of Queen Elizabeth.
While the queen was under medical supervision at Balmoral Castle in Scotland on Thursday, Anya, had expressed her wish for the queen to have ‘excruciating’ pain in a tweet, which has now been deleted by Twitter for violating its rules.
Her tweet generated a lot of reactions on Twitter, with billionaire, Jeff Bezos, slamming her for it.
In a post on its handle on Thursday, the university described Anya’s tweet as “offensive and objectionable” and distanced itself from it.
The terse tweet read, “We do not condone the offensive and objectionable messages posted by Uju Anya today on her personal social media account. Freedom of expression is core to the mission of higher education, however, the views she shared absolutely do not represent the values of the institution, nor the standards of discourse we seek to foster.
My take: The Carnegie Mellon University in the United States is free to do what ever pleases them over what Nigerian-born professor, Uju Anya said about the late Queen but, the good news is, the truth has been told. God bless professor Uju for saying and standing up for the truth.
Igboho lamented that the current security situation in Nigeria is worse than that of war-torn Ukraine.
The Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has called for international support for the actualisation of the Yoruba and Biafran Nations.
Igboho, who made the call in a statement by his Spokesman, Olayomi koiki, alleged that Fulani people, through the support of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, have taken over everything in Nigeria, enslaving the Southern region of the country in the process.
Igboho lamented that the current security situation in Nigeria is worse than that of war-torn Ukraine, adding that whereas war zones in Ukraine are clearly known, every part of Nigeria has become a war zone with people being killed indiscriminately.
Parts of the statement made available to newsmen on Monday read, “My people (Yoruba) are going through the most difficult time. I studied how the League of Nations became the United Nations and the reason why they exist. Furthermore, I know the role Super Powers are playing in the Stability of this world and it is very commendable, countries like the USA; Russia; China; UK and France, their role as Security Council and so on.
“I want to now speak to the indulgence of the establishment and the world at large to please come to our aid. We Yoruba want to pull out of this “British Made Union” called Nigeria. This is the time and the world’s bodies should not ignore these callings in order to avoid bloodshed.
“The country called Nigeria was coined by British colonial power more than 100 years ago. Forcing together 3 major Nations, Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba. Today, none of these nations is thriving. The Fulani that came into the scene with the sneaky name “Hausa-Fulani” has managed to seize total control of everything, with the help of many nations called Northern Nigeria and their greedy politicians from Southern Nigeria.
“Today the world knows Nigeria is a failed State. It no longer exists. Economy is dead and can never be revived. Security is worse than even some war zones like Ukraine. At least in Ukraine, you know the war zone and the civilian zone. In Nigeria everywhere is a war zone and no one is safe anymore.
“To make the matter worse, opportunist groups like radical Islamic group, ISIS, Al Qaeda, ISWAP and so on have now joined with Boko Haram and Fulani Militia, with a common goal of taking over the entire failed country and killing and terrorizing as many people as necessary to achieve this.
“We Yoruba are now saying we have seen this coming 2 years ago when I started this activism. Churches have never been attacked in Yoruba land. Today we have seen it in Owo, there was another major clash that took many lives in Kwara State recently, involving this same Fulani.
“The Federal Government of Nigeria has told the Media Houses in Nigeria to deliberately underreport genocide, this is why they revoked the licenses of some TV and radio stations recently. But the social media is there and that is the direct news from the victims.
“So, I call on the world; Brazil; Cuba and all the Latin American countries that we share some religious bonds with. And this also includes Ghana; South Africa and other African countries as well. We Yoruba cannot achieve our country in isolation, we need your cooperation and assistance.
“Yoruba descendants are all over these countries and many more countries in the world. You all already know who we are and how we behave and that is our resume to the World. You can deduce from that what kind of countries will be added to the World by us Yoruba.
“This Nigeria that we were forced to be part of by colonial power is dead and if we don’t save ourselves now, it will take millions of citizens down with her. It is not safe also for the world communities to allow Africa’s most populous country to be hijacked by terrorists, and it becomes the new terrorists breeding ground.
“So, I call on the UN; USA, Russia, China and all international bodies, to carefully examine our case, and help us achieve our own nation, Yoruba Nation, and also the Igbo wants their Biafra Nation. Let us have our countries and it is safer for the World.
“We have more reasons than ever to dissolve this Evil Union, and let everyone go back to their true nationhood.
“My name is Sunday Adeyemo. I appeal to the World Community to look into my communiqué as this is on behalf of my people. I also want the whole world to ignore what the Fulani Government and our Politicians are telling them, as it is all cover-up.
