The chief Imam of Apo Juma’at Mosque in Abuja, Sheikh Nuru Khalid, has been suspended by the mosque’s steering committee for criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari over Kaduna train bombing.
The Imam, in his Friday sermon, had criticized the president for failure to visit Kaduna over the daring terrorist attack, saying condemnation wasn’t enough.He argued that the president was in Kaduna for campaign but refused to visit the state after the bomb attack.”Everyone condemned the incident, except the bandits. So condemnation is not enough.
The president should visit the state to sympathise with the victims.”The president has been to Kaduna for campaigns but couldn’t go to the state on a sympathy visit,” he said.The chairman of the mosque steering committee, Sai’du Dansadau, however said the Imam was sacked for inciting sermon on April 1

The Arole Oduduwa & Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has declared that descendants of Oduduwa must unite across the world regardless of religious and political differences.
Ooni Ogunwusi made the declaration at his Ile Oodua palace on Tuesday, during the commemoration of his sixth coronation anniversary, describing the Yorubas as natural leaders who are being watched by other nationalities for direction at all times.
“Our unity is nonnegotiable and this is the best time that such irreplaceable virtue is needed the most. We must speak with one voice at all times as we prevent politics, religion or other biases from setting us apart.
“In whatever we do, we must be conscious of the fact that we are being watched by others and we cannot afford to let the world down, especially those looking up to us for leadership.” Ooni Ogunwusi said.
Addressing the happy crowd on the journey so far, Ooni Ogunwusi described the six years of his reign as the goodness of God Almighty, explaining that the moments therein were not without challenges which were defeated through love and support of his subjects.
“Six is not just a common figure, it can be likened to ‘Ifa’ in Yoruba language and I am sure that we all want ‘Ifa’ which is freebie. The days ahead are promising and we shall continue to work for the goodness of all.” Ooni Ogunwusi added.

Bishop Onyeka Nzekwesi of Jesus Alive Ministry has disclosed that the Fulanis are determined to remain in power in 2023 to Islamise Nigeria.
Nzekwesi made the remark while noting that Fulanis have no plans to hand over power to the Southeast.
Addressing journalists in Onitsha, Anambra State, the clergyman said the Fulanis have an anti-Igbo agenda that has been outstanding for a long time.
He, however, pointed out that the plan to Islamize Nigeria would fail.
According to the clergyman: “Fulani caliphates have a long plan against Igbo and as such, no Igboman is a friend to Fulani.
They want to continue their leadership and as such have no plan to hand over to Igbo- or Yoruba but to remain in power in 2023 to help them Islamise the country. They are scattered all over the country including Africa.
“Their plan can not work in God’s name. A child of God whether Christian or Muslim will emerge as the president come 2023 but it will be best for Igbo for rapid infrastructural development of the country because of his ingenuity.”
On the incessant killings, maiming, armed robbery, banditry, kidnapping in the country, he attributed the problems to Pentecostal clerics who he said preached contrary to the expectation of the church.
“I listened to a pentecostal pastor on social media saying no amount of sin will make one go to hell because Christ has paid for all the sins. The man was making people sin in disguise. Some people do not only do evil but lure others to do it thereby deceiving many souls,” he said.
“Everyone is talking about grace and nobody is talking about righteousness. If the entire church is doing what is supposed there will be peace in the world.”
A lady identified as Evangelist Esther Bamiloye, now Mrs Bakare has revealed that she recently got married at the age of 55 while a virgin.
The lady got married for the first time to her husband, Isaac Bakare, a 62-year-old artisan who also has never been married too.
In an interview with Punch, the woman revealed that “the devil had plans to stop her from getting married because when she felt she was ready, there was no man coming for her”.
She also disclosed that she thought the problem was from her former church and God did it for her in her “new church and all the barriers were removed”.
The devil had plans to stop me from getting married. When I felt I was ready, there was no man coming for me. I kept waiting on God for a miracle till I reached 55-years. I never dated anyone till I got married. Initially, I thought the problem was from my former church and I left, but I give glory to God. He did it for me in my new church and all the barriers were removed.
On if there was any pressure, she said;
I was able to withstand all the pressure because of my deep-rooted faith, belief and focus on Christ Jesus. Specifically, God gave me that grace, dedication and help from certain quarters also sustained me all through. Imagine someone of that age not having a husband and not that I deliberately wish not to have. There were many days of weeping, begging God to have mercy. But today, I am happy because as great as the affliction was, I was still able to achieve a lot of things in other areas of my life.
Esther added that she never lost hope and ended up getting married as a virgin. She said;
Not really. But I was overwhelmed at some point. It was simply God’s grace that kept me going. I did not know any man till I got married to my husband. I married as a virgin.
On how she met her husband, she said;
God had been revealing his picture and personality to me and speaking to me about him through some people for over three years. Exactly on the day it reached three years that I first got the revelation, God sent the message again through a prophet. The description of his looks, where he would come from and others matched perfectly when I set my eyes on him at Ilesa. My church is in Osogbo, but we had an event in Ilesa where I met the man destined for me. God even revealed our wedding date, which was October 29, 2021. The period between our meeting and wedding was really short. I give God all the glory for remembering me after all these years.
On having children, she said;
God does all things and one of the blessings of marriage is having children. One has to look forward to childbearing and be steadfast in things of God, and live a happy and fulfilled life. I don’t really have a specific number of children in mind. (We want) as many as God can give us and we can take of.
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Sunday, expressed uncertainty about the future existence of Nigeria and elections in 2023.
Adeboye, while wondering why politicians have started making preparations, noted that no one should be certain about the future, stressing that the future belonged to God.
The Overseer made this disclosure during the church monthly first Sunday telecast monitored by our correspondent. He was speaking on the topic ‘The Great Expectations’. According to Adeboye, it was unsafe for anyone to say his ambition is to become president when the individual is unsure about tomorrow or the existence of the country.
Adeboye said, “This is 2021 some people are already getting ready to kill themselves over 2023. They don’t even know whether there will be 2023, they don’t even know whether they will still be around. There is nobody here who can say for sure that he will still be around by tomorrow. It is God who determines who will still be around by 2023.” “Someone said to me sir, who do you think will be president in 2023, I said the president of where? He said the president of Nigeria. How are you sure there will be Nigeria in 2023? how are you sure? can you swear? I pray there will be Nigeria, so you don’t misquote me. But are you sure?” he added.
While commenting on his expectation, the preacher said it is to see his members in great number in heaven, expressing confidence that they would be many, adding that a section would be earmarked for them. He said, “My greatest expectation is that I will see you in heaven. The members of Redeemed will occupy a particular section that the angel will say you tried. Without holiness, there is no Heaven. Which Heaven are you going to?”
Adeboye, speaking about consolation of those mourning, noted that it is easy for others to console the bereaved without feeling the impact. The 79-year old preacher stressed that having lost a family member, he has a clearer picture of what it is to mourn. “It is easy to say you will see the person again because I have tasted it. I have the experience,” he added. Recall that the respected clergy lost his second son Dare to death on May 4, 2021.
