Matthew 5:20
20:For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Heavenly Father, I am not worthy to gather up the crumbs under Your table, and yet You have forgiven my sin and have clothed me in Christ’s righteousness, simply because I trusted in Jesus as Saviour.
I pray that He will live His life through me, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus’ name I pray Amen.
John 8:32
32:And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Loving Lord, I want to know You more, abide in Your Word, and become a true learner of You.
Help me, Lord, to learn of You and grow in grace, for I want to know the truth and to be set free from the bondage of sin – a freedom that only comes as I abide in You. I ask this in Jesus’ name Amen.
Proverbs 19:20
20:Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.Jesus, lead me today that I may follow your will and grow in the wisdom you offer.
By your Holy Spirit, encourage me to DO the things I read about in the Bible, not just familiarize myself with them.
Lord, I believe in you. Grow my faith today as I trust in your word. Amen.
Proverbs 21:3
13:To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice
Loving Father, I do want to please You, but I recognise that simply trusting Your Word, applying it in my life, and looking to Jesus, is of far greater worth than anything I myself can offer You.
Keep me low at the Cross, I pray, and keep me broken before You all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray Amen.
Colossians 3:15
15:And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
Heavenly Father, I pray that the peace of God may rule in my heart with thanksgiving and praise, and if there is anything in my life that is preventing Your peace from guarding my heart today, I pray that You would show me.
May I honour You in all I say and do and I pray that I may grow more like the Lord Jesus in my dealings with my brothers and sisters in Christ, so that Your peace may guard my heart and the peace of Christ may flow through me to others.
This I ask in Jesus name Amen.
Colossians 3:16
16: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns, and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
I will sing to the Lord a holy song, for He is good and gracious and has lifted me up and arrayed me in His own righteousness, and His banner over me is love.

Luke 4:18-19
18:”The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.
19:To proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.”
Heavenly Father, I stand amazed that You should love me so much that You sent the Lord Jesus to be my Saviour, to be wounded on my account, to die a cruel death on my behalf, and rise again on the third day so that by grace through faith in Him, I have been redeemed from the pit.
He has healed me of my wounds, set me free from slavery to sin, given me a new life in Christ, and I have found my rest in Him. May I live my life in humble dependence upon You, day by day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Isaiah 40:26
26 :Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name, by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, not one is missing.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing writings of the prophet Isaiah and the beautiful truths that He reveals about the Lord Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd of the sheep Who gave His life as the ransom price for the sin of the world.
I praise You for Your magnificent creation and for the salvation of my soul. May I never cease to wonder at Your might, majesty, dominion, and power, and praise You for Christ’s sacrificial offering on the Cross and glorious Resurrection from the dead.
Thank You that it is simply by faith in Him that we have become Your children.
I pray for the people of Israel that many would come to faith in Christ, and I look forward to that future day when Israel as a nation will be restored.

Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Loving Father, too often my mind is deflected from Jesus onto the things of the world, especially when times are difficult, but I want to keep my mind on Christ, knowing that this is Your best will for me. I pray that I become increasingly aware of the Spirit’s promptings in my life, so that day by day, my heart and mind may become saturated with the lovely Lord Jesus.
May His nature be reflected through my actions and attitude and may my life be transformed daily, by the renewing of my mind. Help me to prove in my life what Your will for me is, and may I do only those things that are good, and acceptable and perfect in Your sight – for Your praise and glory, and for the benefit of others.
This I ask in the matchless name of Jesus, Christ Amen.
Romans 8:28
28:And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Heavenly Father, thank You that I have been called according to Your plan and purpose, for it is not Your will that any should perish, but that all should come to faith in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Thank You, Lord, that You are causing all things to work together to finally achieve Your great redemptive plan and purpose for mankind. And thank You, Lord, that so often I see Your gracious hand working in my life and in the lives of all Your children, as You gently transform us into the lovely image of the Lord Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
