James 4:11-12

11: Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

Heavenly Father, I pray that I may become a doer of Your holy law and not fall into the foolish trap of judging it by condemning the actions of others.

Lord, You alone can judge the thoughts of the heart, and I have no right to condemn others through my own self-righteous attitude. Keep me humble before you and help me become an encouragement to my brothers and sisters in Christ and not their accuser.

Keep me from being ‘wise in my own conceit’, or making arbitrary assumptions about the motives of others and above all, teach me to love others as Christ loved me, for in so doing I will honour Your name, as Christ lives in and through me. In His precious name, I pray Amen.

Hebrews 11:6

6:And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Heavenly Father, I realise how quickly and easily I can move from trusting You to doubting Your Word when things do not go the way that I expect.

I pray that, like the men and women of faith in Hebrews, my trust in You will not falter.

Help me to earnestly seek You day by day, for I know that only as Christ lives in and through me, by faith, can I be pleasing in Your sight. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen

Ephesians 2:1-3

1:And you were dead in the trespasses and sins.

2:In which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience.

3:Among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

I praise Your wonderful grace that made me alive in Christ when I was dead in trespasses and sins and without hope in the world.

Thank You, Father, for Jesus, and thank You for loving me so much that You sent Him to give me new life through faith in Him.

I pray that Your Spirit will more and more open my understanding to this indescribable gift that is mine.

Make me bold in proclaiming the saving blood of Jesus to those that are born dead in their sins, and use me in the furtherance of Your plans and purposes. This I ask in Jesus’ name Amen.

Romans 8:29

29:For those whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

Father, I willingly submit to the work of the Holy Spirit in me and pray that You would search every aspect of my life and rid me of every trait that does not reflect the beauty of Jesus.

Thank You that You foreordained this amazing transformation of my ugly character into His glorious likeness. In Jesus’ name, I pray Amen.

Psalms 9:7-8

7:But the LORD sits enthroned forever; he has established his throne for justice,

8:And he judges the world with righteousness; judges the peoples with uprightness.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the great encouragement from the wonderful Word of God.

How I praise You that the day is coming when You will judge the ungodly in righteousness.

Help me to look to You no matter what difficulties and dangers arise in my life.

May my trust in You be strengthened with every passing day, as I continue to prove Your faithfulness to the truth of Your Word.

Praise God that Your Word abides forever and that You have established Your throne in righteousness and justice. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Deuteronomy 8:17-18

17:Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’

18:You shall remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

Loving Father, thank you for Your wonderful words of wisdom in Scripture. May I become so firmly grounded in the truth of Your Word and the glory that it reveals, that I can place the sufferings of this present time in their correct perspective. In Jesus’ name I pray Amen.

Psalms 100:4-5

4:Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!

5:For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the Word of Life, which is in Christ Jesus. Thank You that You are our Creator and God, our Saviour and Redeemer.

Lord, you alone are worthy of all praise and thanksgiving, and we bless and glorify Your holy name.

Thank You that You are a faithful God who keeps His promises and fulfils His Word and thank You that Your loving-kindness endures forever. Praise Your holy name, Amen.
